Because there is an end in sight I'm watching the episodes that I've missed or have skimmed over. Just watched the one after the first catty cat boys.. Can i just say i loved loved loved the conversation that Shiva and Raavi have whilst looking in the mirror and so apt:
She had a dream of what her husband would be like and she built her castle up in the clouds, she didn't get that castle but she's trying to build a new one and she is even willing to make herself into what Shiva wished for to make the marriage work; adjustment and compromise (I don't know if this would be the right word for them to use.. I've always personally had an issue with saying compromise for marriages or any relationships for that matter). I want to see them evolve in the marriage, accepting and adapting to living together and I really hope that's how they start looking at it because neither should have to change to the extent where they forget their own self.
A small side note for where credit is due, Shiva at least said even though it may have been in anger that she doesn't need to change herself for him and she's perfect for a lot of people (i had to go back to hear the dialogue) and it struck a chord, he has reiterated multiple times to her that he won't ever change the way he is and you can see that slight flare of anger (kudos to KD) when she talks about just that... Changing herself for him. He has never wanted that and thinks as much when he says he started liking her.
She points out that she isn't married to anyone else but him so she deserves to be treated as a part of him and wants him to tell her what he feels.
I digress; the conversation in the mirror is truly that a reflection of their feelings, they are both hurting and they're both angry, for very different reasons. Just as there is an expectation of what you see in a reflection, they're both looking for a validation of their emotions in the reflection of the other.
He sees her physical aspects but seems to have lost sight of her qualities and she's looking to find a reason for the emotional outburst but doesn't notice it's his physical attributes that seem to be bothering him.
This bone of contention will continue going round in circles because neither is really listening to what the other has to say, only the words are being heard, just as your reflection will say the words you want it to.
I don't know if the creatives thought this deep about the actual scene but this is what I thought of it. Some scenes just stick and for me this was definitely one of them. Not sure what's been discussed earlier so apologies if someone has already mentioned this 😊. I've tried harder to line up my thoughts so they're not too haphazard😊
