Why should anyone name their child anything other than what the parents want? Do you think Kareena is being oppressed and has no say in what she wants to name her son?

Just say it, you dont like muslims and have a problem with a child being given a muslim name.

i hope u find peace ✌🏼

Wow. What are you even saying? I don't know why you started calling people bigots because someone appreciated SRK for giving his kids neutral names. When you're part of a mixed-religion marriage, shouldn't it be the norm? How is it bigoted?!! Honoring both parents is considered liberal and secular. Erasing one parent's identity in their kids is what is bigoted.

I don't think keeping muslims name is a problem here, the problem is naming them after rulers.

I think Jehangir is not as bad as Taimur though; and he was not an invader in that sense.. (Mughals had already invaded India and Akbar had won hearts 😆)

Jehangir was also mixed religion by the way, and so was Shah Jahan (son of Jagat Gosin).

Exactly. Don't know what's so difficult to decipher.

The problem is two-fold: Giving only Muslim names, and naming them after rulers.

Wasn't Asoka a ruler? Don't people have a problem with Ashok or Alexander? Why Jehangir so problematic?

#1 - As far as giving only muslim name goes - I think its parent's choice. Also I think being nawabs they have titles, like "shehzadi/shehzada".. so there is a chance they have to be muslims. (Even in royalty, even where we have evidence that Mugal wives were free to practice her own religion - the havan kunds and structure of Jodha's palace especially.. they had separate Islamic names too). Though the Pataudis came into existence during the British Era, if I'm not wrong.

#2 Weird and problematic.

After naming Taimur, they are inviting the kid to be trolled it seems.

As I mentioned, Taimur is far more problematic; Jehangir is still ok. But naming two kids after rulers is plain absurd.

Do people realize ibrahim is named after a prophet in Islam? If he was born today, people would still have had a problem lol.

Also Ibrahim was also named after a ruler. Maybe Saif has liked names of emperors and rulers. So let's stop assuming this is a sudden Kareena thing and Amrita was so much smarter

no one has problem with a muslim name. the issue is they are silly archaic names that they are doing for attention. no one would have cared if the kid is named Akbar etc.

but to each their own

The royalty exists only in name now, n we're not in the medieval age anymore, so having non-Muslim names shouldn't be a problem. It's not like their 'subjects' would rise up in rebellion. 😆
