He can still play an undercover cop and be a bad boy. The criminal act may be a pretense but his attitude isn't.

No, if it is a pretense, there's justification for his bad deeds, i.e. he was "acting" like a bad guy but is actually very good.

A bad guy should be a bad guy because he feels like it, no justification needed. Just like Amrita is the way she is because of who she is, a good person with the heart of gold. Similarly he is a bad guy because he wants to be one, with a heart of gold.

If that's his actual attitude, then it's good.

But I'm afraid they'd whitewash him 🤔 I don't want that.
