I am glad you are close to her now and hopefully get to spend some time with her!♥️♥️
Its the same with me. I am closer to my dad and my brother is closer to mom. I generally tend to share stuff with dad. But I have started sharing things with my mom as well mainly after marriage😃

ML, Qatar has started operating from the US for the past 6 months from all their locations and a great service too, much better than United and AirIndia which are the air bubble flights between US and India. Only if you go in United or Air India, Delhi is a requirement. I took chances with Qatar, worked out fine. The only thing with Qatar is, you will have to get covid test on arrival in Indian airports. I got done mine inChennai as soon as I arrived, should get the results in 24 hrs. I didn’t want a stopover at Delhi or Mumbai, stay overnight in a hotel and take the first domestic flight next morning.
Anyway both my Dad and My FIL did not die of Covid but had illnesses that they succumbed too, none of us could help them. Any loss of life is really hard to deal with especially when its your close family member
At losses absolutely. My Nani passed away in Jan from other illness, and my Nana perfectly healthy, but died because of CoVId within a week in hospital. We couldn't even be by his side and heard he kept crying to be with us. My mom was devastated she didn't get to see either of her parents because of COVid without even stepping out of the house. She usually visits them once a year. On between my dadaji who lives with us died of other illness as I was feeding him and my spoon was in his mouth. My mama and Mami got covid right after my nana passed away. First my mam had to be in hospital, but as he was recovering and coming back home, my Mamis health deteriorated and was admitted in hospital and died within a week from lung collapse. My mam lost both of his parents and wife and his only son lives in CA. My mom's so devestated that she couldn't meet 3/4 people and my mamas all alone and she can't be there with him.
And on top of the losses, the helplessness and guilt in my mom's eyes of not being there physically for her family, it's eating her alive.
