Why did RD Burman lift Mama Mia for Mil Gaya? I get the ones who lift obscure artists. But why did he lift an international mega-hit?
The most amusing lift for me is Na Bole Tu Na Maine Kuch Kaha. Because it lifts a civil war song from the 1800s.
Zindagi Milke Bitayenge from Satte pe Satte in "inspired" by The Longest Day these. I never listened to Bollywood music same way again

They probably think people are dumb.
ABBA was pretty popular in India too though, my mom remembers it from her school days when she was really small.

It really bugs me when they copy music. India has such good music historically & so rich classically too..with so much talent. The truly talented don’t get too much of a chance I feel.

Though bollywood for sure has a lion's share of credit in "inspired" songs, I don't think this one's inspired. Feels the other way round.
The clothes and video quality of this video gives a lot of late late 90's and early 2000's feel. Especially the orange spaghetti strap (not sure of the correct term) dresses of the background dancers. (Piya Piya song one of the costume vibes)
So this guy has made such remakes of a lot of songs. Not sure if he bought the rights or not because it is like an out an out copy paste, with just choose a different language.
Seems like he is the Anu Malik of his region(I'm assuming it's Indonesia, taking a look at the comments section). Looks also quite similar to Anu Malik. Kya din aagaye, where Anu Malik look alike is copy pasting Anu Malik's songs which in whole probability might also be inspired from somewhere. This is some Dark level shit and my brain hurts.
In Anu's own words...Aag lagaa di...aag!
