I can watch crime shows, hospital drama with all the gore etc no problem (having studied biology, physiology etc probably helps) but atrocities against women even in the slightest I can’t bear to watch. It’s not because I’ve been subjected to it myself but because I know of both women and men who have been subjected to it. It is then normalised on all these Indian serials and acceptable by saying that ‘she deserved it’. No one deserves it, neither woman nor man!

As for the truck scene and also the stock burning scene, especially in the way how he spoke to her, I was horrified by his behaviour and I actually remember saying to my mum that I don’t want to watch it anymore as it was not the kind of ‘entertainment’ I like’ but I was always intrigued by Pallavi so gave it a chance which now I’m glad.

Another thing I find is why does everyone enjoy slapping people in Indian serials and films? We had a phase in this serial where it was happening left right and centre! And then on the forum (I have non seen it on this AT mind you) and SM people saying characters deserve ‘a tight slap’ etc. Why?!? This to me seems a very Indian thing. Yes people get slapped in British soaps/films but not to the same extent. Why is this normalised and acceptable in Indian serials/films? And why do people actually want to see it that they constantly say so in their comments?? It’s beyond me!

Apologies I’ve gone on and on but the last two points I’ve not had chance to say before so feel better now that I have😊

I agree with you Bindia! I can also watch gore in medicine, crime without even flinching but not in such contexts.

Iss show mein slapping and domestic violence kitni zyaada hai!!!! I made a list once, it was endless!!! Thank god tbey stopped, it was wayyy too much.

Same Sonia, I kinda lost it at that point too. Hadd hoti hai? I found two slaps in this show justified, bas- Pallavi slapping him when he was defaming her, and Jaya slapping Sulochana when the truth of Kirti's pics came out.

Matlab, I'm not usually one for violence, but yahaan it seemed acceptable.

Sabse zyaada gussa toh mujhe tab aaya that when Vijay slapped Farhad and Mansi slapped Nikhil. I literally saw red in both those instances.

Also, remember Sulochana beating up Amrutha with a tennis racket? Holy smokes that was terrible. Ughhh.

I was more than ok with Keerthi getting slapped twice by Amma.. she deserved it.. not by Raghav though..

Yeah Farhad getting slapped was really bad. Some of the scenes they needed to tone it down here in MHRW. They totally changed Mansi's character and absolutely no justification given for it - sigh wish they get Nikhil soon

Add Lady Dragon getting slapped twice by Amma to the list.. her badmouthing Pallavi just doesn't stop..Can this character ever go back to its insignificant, non vampy ways? I don't think so.. why? because she is so deep into Sunny and he is a bad bad influence.. has no scope of turning positive himself.. once a misogynist, always a misogynist.

And yeah man, I'm beyond sick and tired of her spewing venom at Pallavi bina kissi wajah ke. Ainvayi ki dushman bani padi hai. Raghav and Pallavi have pretty much left her to her own devices now. She's dating Sunny just like she was before. Shaadi toh pehle bhi nahi karna chahte the, ab pata nahi kya naya siyaapa hai dono ka. Apni beintihaa mohabbat mein khush rahein na, ainvayi sade rehte hain 😡 She seems to be involved in whatever happens to Pallu on mangalgauri as well, this girl has no shame left. And sunny had none to begin with.
