Yes! I saw a picture of this movie about a month ago and was pretty disgusted. The age difference is even more pronounced because Akshay acted with her father when her father was around her age (or younger).

The 'ick' factor probably wouldn't be as bad if he was opposite a non-star kid. This just seems a bit incestuous (not saying it is), as she most likely grew up around Akshay, went to visit her father on set during those Khiladi movies. I can imagine her referring to him as 'Askhay Uncle' as a child.

Aren't we used to see such stuff now? I thought no one cared anymore.

Yup yup, if Akshay is playing his age or close to his age in the movie and romancing someone so so much younger is part of the plot then it's fine otherwise no. Akshay looks good with pretty much all actresses because he has maintained himself but anyone below 30 is unacceptable. Ideally they should be 40+ but since him and his contemporaries have romanced so many that are 30+, we are dealing with it.

Akshay has no shame.

Hope this movie flops and the reason is the weird age gap.

Akshay Kumar does not look his age. He looks quite young for a 50+ year old. And what about Rajnikant ? Hasn't he worked with younger actresses ?

Hollywood too has quite a few examples where one lead is significantly older than other and quite a few cannot be explained away by the story. What is amusing is it is mostly Desis and some non-Indians from abroad who crib about this, so it is not as if they do not watch Hollywood movies.

These age gaps are seriously getting ridiculous and jarring to look at. Kiara looked significantly younger than Akshay in Laxxmi...in fact Akshay looked better with Kareena in Good Newwz.

I know women tend to "age faster" than men after crossing 40-50 (menopause et al), but there are still a bunch of actresses from the 90s who would look more age appropriate.
