Shaan is soooo spineless. It’s one thing to not have the courage to leave yourself but to keep a son and mother apart is unforgivable. Tejvi used their money and position for blackmail against Aastha and their power is their facade of mahaanta that has put Shaan in their karz. Side note, I really enjoy the way Gayatri told the story of the past to Kanchan. Gayatri deserved to be more than a wallflower on the show!

Aastha lied to Anokhi. She’s hiding her truth. Anokhi’s idol of right & wrong and truth & falsity is capable of telling a lie! I find it interesting that Anokhi never calls her out of this omission.
Until we get more of the Khannas and Monty, I don’t care to comment on Canada rishta! It sucks that Rama and Babli were trembling with fear and that Ramesh had the audacity to take his anger out on Rama. He is so repulsive.
First real conversation between Shakhi!! It was a lecture!! She lectured him on being rude!! Their future equation was set from the very beginning. Last episode she forced him to give a speech. This time she lectured him. The bedrock of their relationship is that she talks and he listens and she gets her way! Her boldness and assertiveness adds to her attraction for Shaurya(in the future).
Precap: Abusive Ramesh Bhalla comes out again! Ugh! 😩

Aastha and Shaurya have such a strained mother son relationship and Shaan is the main reason for this. I just cannot fathom the reason for him to not support Aastha. He is madly in love with Aastha but still did not support her. Wish in S2 we get a backstory of what exactly happened. And spending 25 years like a Devdas and neglecting his son. At least he should have given a clear picture to Shaurya about why his mother left him . Shaurya grew up with hatred in his mind for his mother because of the poison fed by Devi and Shaan was in his own world.

Ramesh showing his anger on his wife. Now I understand why he did not react when he saw that Babli was beaten by her husband. And again tomorrow he would be beating Anokhi....

Idk about others but I thought Deepa ma'am's acting in this epi was top notch. I know a lot of us praise the acting in the later episode but watching this in hindsight I appreciated her acting so much more. Aastha's pain, her angst, the guilt, yearning everything seemed more profound to me.

No wonder Anokhi witnessing all the torment and the unjust treatment her mum and sister are going through decides to be the rebel, resilient, tenacious person she is

Sometimes girls who grow up in such an environment tend to loose faith in the institution of marriage. But Anokhi is different, seeing the sufferings of her mother and sister she has understood the importance of financial independence in women. She has set high goals for herself and achieves it how much ever difficult her path may be. She wants to be the one to give freedom to her mother and sister.

Watched E5 & E6 together, so this is in totality.

Shaurya's shock on seeing Aastha and how he masks his anger on stage is beautifully portrayed. But the professional demeanour is ripped off as soon as he leaves the premises and Aastha confronts him again. His anger and disappointment in her shows clearly and his lack of respect cannot be faulted too knowing what he has gone through in the last 25 years. When he sees his mom holding the hand of another ward and dragging her away from a confrontation, he hopes she had done that 25 years ago when he pleaded her to not leave him. Again the parallels amaze me!

He does seem taken aback by Anokhi defending Aastha all of a sudden. But this is just the beginning of all the "lectures" he is going to endure with her 'Aastha M'am' at the core.

At the outset, Anokhi butting into the argument to defend her M'am might make sense. She has seen his viewpoint about women on stage too. But I wish she sees his POV in the future before going all guns-ablazing on him.

The whole point about 'parvarish' used by Anokhi in the argument was interesting. Shaurya taking it as a taunt against Aastha herself (if I read his expression right), and Aastha thinking about Devi and the Sabherwals perhaps?

Women as a pillar in a family was mentioned by both Shaurya and Aastha today. But she is just that- a pillar among many others. You cannot put the whole onus/burden on her alone. Every member, elder or younger, male or female, needs to understand his/her responsibility in a family and work towards it. Every 'beam' that supports that pillar helps to make it stronger.

Gayatri as a character started off so well. Wish her development was part of the storyline. But her assumption about Aastha being happy is so wrong. As they say, the grass is always greener on the other side. Aastha has her own regrets. So does Gayatri, and as will Kanchan later.

Devi Sabherwal has proved from this episode to be the most selfish woman. She wanted to keep Shaurya to herself from Day 1. Not sure whether she didn't want other kids or couldn't have any, so conveniently put on the mask of self-sacrifice. She might have left nothing lacking in bringing up Shaurya (the Sabherwal attitude included , unfortunately), but instigating him against his birth mother negates it all. Her disgusting way of protecting herself in future maybe!

And yes, the subtle, yet typical line about 'Boys don't cry, girls do' . No wonder he never had the courage to show his vulnerabilities in front of his closest confidante- his Badi Maa even!

Shaan's biggest mistake was not taking a stand for his wife against his family. Shaurya would have been saved from being "orphaned" if his dad and mom were on the same side that day. Shaan's living in the past and not concerning himself with his son's future has been his other big mistake. Is Aastha aware of how Shaurya has been living without his father's support? Or does she think that Shaurya hates only her? From Shaan's messages she seems to have not been answering him at all.

Ramesh Bhalla being the controlling dad/husband disgusts me. He is abusive as well. Can't seem to forgive him any time in the future looking at his character now.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but if Anokhi had to only go to the function to collect her prize, did she have to risk it? I also understand this was bound to happen any time in future as well, but looking at how she is always worried that her mom might have to bear the brunt every time, could she have not avoided going this once? I can't seem to make sense of this.

Loving the different layers of Shaurya's character, the portrayal of Aastha's nuances by Deepa M'am and Anokhi's attitude.

I love that Anokhi's endgame isn't marriage! And it shouldn't be for any woman, in my opinion. She knows that she's enough. She's about improving herself and striving for her dreams. And a person who is confident and happy in themselves will make others happy!

From interviews I deduce that we were supposed to get a Shastha background story. We deserve to know the initial intention of the story to really understand Shaan's stand. Right now Shaan just looks like a miserable spineless man, who couldn't be happy without his wife, but also couldn't be happy with his son. Even if he's a good and weak person, Shaan deserved to suffer more since his child suffered for 25 years due to his negligence.

Episode6:

A mother meeting her son after 25 long years just waiting to shower her love on him but all she gets is cold shoulder. She is trying to make him understand her situation and justify the reason why she had to leave him but he is just rude to her.

Shaurya seeing his mother ,years of hurt resurfaced. For no fault of his he suffered for long and he got love out of sympathy and not out of affection. This disturbed him and all the angst came out of him.

The flashback scene was too emitional. For a mother to leave her son us the most toughest thing and she chose that but wants to fight for her son too.For a kid who was happy with dad and mom was suddenly deprived of both of them.Mom left but his dad was not there with him.

Shaan......being the timid person that he is has spoiled three lives and Shaurya had to bear the toughest consequences out of all.Shaurya's childhood lost in being clueless about of absence of his real parents and love showered by others is just a debt for him.

Anokhi shares her victory with Babli and Ramaa and all they were worried about was about Rami's anger.

Anokhi chides Shaurya for his crass behaviour and he smirks at his mother because the words were directed towards Aastha.

Shaurya looks back at his mother...the four year old child still yearning for mother's love can be seen there.

Scene at Bhalla s house....

Mr.Bhalla saying he got crossiants and pastries worth Rs 500....shows parents like him are ready to do anything to get their daughter married but they cannot spend that money on her education.Nikki was struggling with internet in earlier episodes and she had to steal that from someone.

Physical abuse that Mr.Bhalla does to his wife.....Ramaa bearing it all.....Dominating behavior multiplies when there is fear and Ramaa is unknowingly encouraging Mr .Bhalla's dominant behaviour.

Nikki Aastha conversation at bridge was a fitting reply to those parents who discourage their daughter's achievements.

Trophies do not add up to a girl's matrimonial biodata.Girls should be pretty, and father of girl should be financially sound to cater to every unreasonable demand from groom s side.

Mr.Bhalla demanding answer from a petrified Babli is tough to watch.Poor girl covering up for her sister s absence.

Precap

Clown khanna and party insulting the Nikki's character.

Shaurya and Aastha confrontation is so great to see….25 years in the making. It has both mind and heart. Aastha loves her son but also won’t tolerate any disrespect. Shaurya is savage in addressing her as “tum” but also you can see the little boy look in his eyes when she walks away. Love their battle of words because they’re both so curt with each other.

Shaurya is fully justified in his act. Well not being rude and all, but why should he even entertain any relationship with anyone or even listen to the woman who left him and never bothered to look back.

Shaurya despite everything, felt the hurt again, when Asthaa took Anokhi away with her before he could say anything more to her. It is a sign of protection of Asthaa for Anokhi. And the direct comparison of leaving behind Shaurya gives us a glimpse into the depth of his misery.

Shaan is soooo spineless. It’s one thing to not have the courage to leave yourself but to keep a son and mother apart is unforgivable.

Shaan was only a lover and nothing else. Being from an affluent family, and having an elder brother to take care of everything may very well lead to other members of the family being only there as an addendum and nothing else. Shaan could wallow in his misery and there is Alok who was the devoted younger son, at the beck and call of his bhabhi.

Tejvi used their money and position for blackmail against Aastha and their power is their facade of mahaanta that has put Shaan in their karz.

Notice the signal that Tej gave to Devi when Asthaa was walking away with her son.

Side note, I really enjoy the way Gayatri told the story of the past to Kanchan. Gayatri deserved to be more than a wallflower on the show!

Yes, Gaytri was factual and showed the other side of the story, but has never dared to say anything to Shaurya about it, telling us how dominating Tej and Devi are.

Aastha lied to Anokhi.

Yes, today this struck a chord with me. Why lie? Why hide the truth? How does thi affect her relation with her student. At that moment in time, she does not know that Anokhi would be going to SIAC, so why the mystery.

She’s hiding her truth. Anokhi’s idol of right & wrong and truth & falsity is capable of telling a lie! I find it interesting that Anokhi never calls her out of this omission.

What does this tell us about Anokhi? She can accept a lie from a person she loves, Isn't this against her principles?

Until we get more of the Khannas and Monty, I don’t care to comment on Canada rishta! It sucks that Rama and Babli were trembling with fear and that Ramesh had the audacity to take his anger out on Rama. He is so repulsive.

I believe we still have families of the Bhalla type where the women live in fear. The whole bhalla family are very good actors.

First real conversation between Shakhi!! It was a lecture!! She lectured him on being rude!! Their future equation was set from the very beginning. Last episode she forced him to give a speech. This time she lectured him. The bedrock of their relationship is that she talks and he listens and she gets her way!

In the 5th and 6th episode we are given a glimpse of the type of relation that Shakhi will have. Shaurya despite his reluctance would be attracted by the fiery nature of Anokhi and he will start to listen to someone other than BM, who will make him reflect on his actions.

Her boldness and assertiveness adds to her attraction for Shaurya(in the future).

Shaurya has been surrounded by meek women in his household, so having an intelligent, sharp girl who can challenge him would be welcome, as he himself is very intelligent.
Precap: Abusive Ramesh Bhalla comes out again! Ugh! 😩

Thoughts?

Felt bad for Shaurya for his yearning, and for the Bhalla girls/women who are living in an abusive household.
