Forced marriages are illegal, so legally Malini is his first wife. Malini just wants to handle the situation in a more mature way, cause she has seen Imlie crazy ideas to get what she wants. But since the show's protagonist is Imlie her illogical actions will always win. Malini is not forcing herself on Aditya, yet, but I am hoping she would.
Having Aditya behind bars would be nice to see.

How? By claiming to be his wife? Going to minister's office decking up with mangalsutra and sindur? By saying competing with Imlie instead of talking her about possible situation like a real mature woman.
Imlie's approach wasn't illogical, she did what she could do at her best capacity since she didn't had the 'privileges' , the other one was flaunting.
If you have followed the show, Malini no matter how illogical and diabolical she gets, is always justified in the show.
If she wanted to help Adi, there was no need to put down Imlie or parade as his wife.
Someone from legal cleared this out that how the marriage happened as per tribal customs is legal, as Aditya didn't filed for annulment ever. There was even article about that.
So yes Imlie is his legal first wife.
Malini may not be coming out openly, but it's clear she is trying her best to Weasle her way in. I had initially supported her and wanted her to take action against Aditya, but may be its too much to expect from her spineless self.she can just assert her power and taunt a 19 year old, instead of calling out her actual culprit.
I don't mind Aditya to be behind bars and I hope with that her criminal mother too is booked for assault, harassment and kidnapping.
