Well she wants the amount that she feels she is entitled to as per the contract. And Disney also knows that D+ cost different prices in different countries then why did Marvel chief counsel said to Scarlett that “We understand that should the plan change, we would need to discuss this with you and come to an understanding as the deal is based on a series of (very large) box office bonuses.” Disney neither renegotiated with her nor replied to her lawyers so what was she supposed to do?

I agree with that but when you have worked with a company for do long, all marvel movies are on Disney , she is a part of it as well. Disney would definitely gotten back to her...there wasn't a need to sue...when there is millions involved in a contract it takes months to reach a agreement within a company especially in this COVID-19 times when majority of people are working from home. How much money a movie makes on OTT only the PH and the OTT knows. Actors are only paid on final payment upon the outcome of the money. Its takes mths to get all the right numbers on OTT. Disney might be waiting for that. Well we all have to wait until Disney response to this. They will be able to give a clearer picture of this situation.

So Scarlett should work under this assumption that eventually Disney will get back to her when they are not even replying to her queries.

She'll get money but not $50m. No way was her % going to be that much even if the film was just released solely theatrically. That back end is RDJ Iron Man 3 $, and reportedly she already made $20m upfront.

Gal Gadot & Patty Jenkins got $10m after the fact from WB from WW84 when WB unilaterally announced all it's films for a year would also go to HBO Max

Both WB and Disney should have re-negotiated first but these are not normal circumstances and movie studios have been taking it in the neck.

“Disney intentionally induced Marvel’s breach of the agreement, without justification, in order to prevent Ms. Johansson from realizing the full benefit of her bargain with Marvel,” the suit said.

Yes, I'm sure Disney cost itself hundred of millions in Box Office just to screw over SJ. It had nothing to do with the Pandemic with theaters being closed and or people reluctant to return to theaters. They delayed the film over a year to try and give it it's best release date locally and worldwide and still came up against another wave.
