Like he just went straight for kissing her do some teasing before that. It looks random. Few more dialogues before going for a kiss. Sometimes they don't do build up before romantic scenes and sometimes they do build up the atmosphere but didn't use it properly

Gonna butt in here bc I can't resist & I am (was - have taken a break recently) an avid kdrama watcher - actually CLOY was one of my least favorites LOL but Sec Kim - yes I disliked that one even more. hahaha.

But yes, they had a lot of damsel in distress/mary-sue type female characters, it took me a while to understand what type of kdramas I liked vs not.
