Okay, so now I think the story has progressed enough for us to get a whole picture. Once again, the show is trying to weave in very complex and also contrasting thoughts and perspectives. Some we agree with, are pleasing our to our senses, while others are the ugly facets of our society that evoke collective anger just as it is doing now. Before I come to this point, let's look at the picture as it is now.

To address the elephant in the room first, Ishwari. No matter how much we curse her character or the story tellers, she is represents the majority of the people in our society even today. Her son has always been above all else, and it is nothing different now. She still treats him like a child, obsesses (in my opinion) over every hurt or problem that dev goes through, and expects him to do and see everything the way she does. This is true, let's not white wash it here. Moreover, this season I feel a new aspect of her is being explored which is of wanting everything to be her way and not giving space for anyone else's emotions or thoughts. Dev and sona wanted to bring the family into the issue later, but kyu suni uski baat Dev ne. Sona is for whatever reasons taking time to become a mother of ayush but why it should be instant. Soha is taking time to share all that was only hers but why she should realise it even if that means hitting her. Even baby ayush is not spared. He wants to go meet his dada dadi but no her puja is more important. And hell, now she even expects ayush to never go back. Why does everything have to go her way??? She shows all the characters of a matriarch, who loves centralised power and is maybe even a bit toxic?her character thus fits perfectly into men and women of our society, perhaps more of that generation. And as if this was not enough, now the complexity of blood relationships has been brought in. Did we really think that the woman who has discriminated between her own children will give soha the space she has had in this house? Of course not, because in her eyes that never belonged to Soha in the first place. So how difficult can it be to now just give it to Ayush right? And well, sons of the house are always to be favoured right?

The way I see her story developing.... sona and Dev absolutely have to make it clear that Soha is their daughter and nothing will change that. There has to be a united front because right now there is none. And honestly, I feel they should now take their place as the parents of soha and ayush, doing what they think is right for him (like taking him to meet his dada dadi) and NOT what Ishwari says. I mean at least now, their kids come first...not even ma. Secondly, I feel only her daughters can show this mirror to Ishwari. Sona's words will fall on deaf years and Dev toh doesn't see any wrong in his mother anyway. I hope the return of nikki Neha will bring in this angle.

p.s wow didn't expect this to be so long. Going to post each characters analysis differently, along with what I see happening.
