On noticing these early episodes, one thing comes to forefront, the yearning of acceptance in Shaurya and Anokhi both.

The father and son, so much to say yet they both are unable to express anything and everything. What hit me hard here was the unnecessary drag that sabarwals did to the Shagun situation. Let. Things. Go. In. Peace. But it's important to 'insult' the girl and to make it all about themselves. This is how 'ladkewaale' play the victims card. It's annoying and insulting.

Also, did shaurya ever love Shagun or did he just want her because she was smart and educated and fit his 'bill' of a stay at home woman?

Ramesh Bhalla, wants to be done away with his bhoj, consent or background does not matter. Well to a poor man a groom must feel like a blessing as his world is filled with examples of honour and doing the right thing. Again? Does he love his daughters, I think a difficult question to answer. I can't say yes nor can I say no.

Devi has always been vindictive. She doesn't take insults well. So to have her princely beta's engagement called off must have really annoyed her. She likes to add insult to injury and really wipe the floor with the Kapoors. The Kapoors must not be as elite as the Sabherwals and that class difference makes them cower in front of Devi. I guess they don't want to be persona non grata at the parties because they're in Devi Sabherwal's bad side.

Yes I agree sometimes Patriarchy is toxic for males too. Through Ramesh Bhalla they have shown how it is when there is only one breadwinner in the family. He is still paying the loan taken for his elder daughter's marriage and is planning to take another loan for his younger daughter's marriage. And he wants to finish her marriage before his retirement .Typical situation in many rural families.

But was really disgusted with Mr Bhalla's behavior today. He knew that his daughter was beaten by her husband but still did not react. And not bothered to do any background check for Anokhi's alliance. Just wants to finish the marriage and send her dholi. I am appalled that how can a father be like this.

Mr. Bhalla is an abusive man himself, so he'd be a hypocrite if spoke against his son in law and also would have to look in the mirror about how he treats someone else's daughter(Rama). He just wants to get rid of his daughters that them suffering in any hell hole doesn't matter to him. He clearly has no love for his daughters.

According to Shaurya, he has been betrayed and not the other way round. Shagun going behind his back, applying for the scholarship whilst knowing full well his expectation is enough for him to decide the person is not worth any cent. To him it is straigth forward, 'He' is not important for Shagun, so why should he attach himself to someone who does not really care for him.

Shaurya is impulsive and he seems to believe his assessment of any situation is the correct one. Shagun didn't inform him that she applied, but as soon as she got acceptance, she approached him, but it's too late to change his perception. He's going to see it as disrespectful that she went against his wishes and pursued her education. He'll feel slighted that she wants to spend 2 years away from him. He thinks that being a Sabherwal is the gold standard, so he's also feeling not valued; that she could choose something else over him.

Actually I believe Bhavna(old Shagun actress) said that the intention was for her to go negative, just like in Mohor, but the change of actress was maybe a need to make her look more vamp-like.
