EPISODE 1 - MAKERS PLS USE SHREYA GHOSAL SONG

I got attracted to the show because of the ML and the beautiful song in the promos. I am so disappointed that they didn’t use it during the show. I was so looking forward to it.

Otherwise I liked the acting of all characters, I thought all of them are excellent actors, acknowledging Covid and the devastation our country has gone through and the art direction, the clothes were simple, beautiful and not loud. Also like the FL a lot, I came for the ML but the FL is quite impressive in her acting.

what didn’t work for me is the slight OTT in various places - by Nimmo when she went to ask for her son’s ashes, (which probably means there is a good chance the ITV husband will come back 😔) by people in the neighborhood and their taunts (it’s like ITV cannot get rid of regressive shyte like this). The other thing that didn’t work for me is the pace, thoda slow tha. They could have avoided the whole sasural genda phool scene.

Btw LOVED LOVED the actor who plays the devar, what a cutie!! Both from acting and looks perspective, I hope to see him get more footage, nahi tou slowly these side characters start becoming Grey and dark or just sidelined.

Am fully aware this is an ITV show, so my expectations are frankly not much. I usually don’t watch an ITV show beyond 100 episodes. So that’s the chance I am giving this show too.. I find ITV shows are not good for our health beyond the 100/120 mark.

Yeah, not using the original song was so disappointing. Agree on the taunts scene and I'm praying that they don't bring the son back. That's the first thing I thought after they said they didn't get his ashes. If they show him coming back I'm going to leave the show.

I liked the acting of most characters but so far my favourite it the FL. She had such a nice calmness in her scenes which balanced the chaos in the rest of the episode. Love her smile too. From the promos, I liked the ML more but now I'm not sure.

I guess the promo and music made me expect too much, but now I'm more reasonable. Expecting to watch first 50-100 episodes at least.

I agree with you on the FL. I also agree too much chaos, but I think that’s on purpose becos FL is calm and smiles and ML is bitter and silent, so they need that chaos. Let’s hope for the best.

@ bold - I feel as usual SP did more on the promo than on the first episode. In a way it’s good, because we can now keep our expectations at a simmer. One thing did surprise me, they only had two promos, usually SP shows more promos for a show. I wonder if SP produced the promo song and not the PH. Because that would make sense as to why the initial episodes will not have the promo song. I really really hope they use the promo song.

Oh don’t even get me started on the whole bring the husband back track- what a waste that will be! Hopefully by then I should have moved on 🤣I am horrible, it’s the first episode and I am already talking about moving on!!!

The show has a lot of good points but a lot of cons too.

I hope the speed gets faster later on. This was the first episode so maybe they were just setting the story and the atmosphere up.

I didn’t like the precap either 🤔 the show has just started, there’s no need to create an problem already.

I liked the actor playing Kabir too and hope that they show his side of the story. Seeing how much focus they gave them, I think he is the parallel lead and we might see his story too. Not sure though.

Hopefully, they don’t bring back her husband.

Overall, I liked all the actors. It seems like they took their time with the casting. The Fl especially suits her character. She has this peaceful Aura around her that is needed for the character 😊 and her smile is beautiful ❤️

I am excited for the Ml’s entry. I saw him in the show Tum Saath Ho Jab Apne and had been waiting for his new project.

I am also excited to meet new people in this forum. I hope I get to know you all better and become friends with you all 🤗

As they are just setting the whole characters in the first few days, the. Pace may get better with time.

The promo song is wat attracted me to the show. And the rest of the main cast have usually been part of sensible content, so I hope this show is the same sensible.

For a typically potrayed punjabi family, they are ok (moderate loud) and the clothes are less bling which is a relief.

The husband was the doctor that they lost due to C-19 so I don't think he will reappear after few months. But again, it's ITV. That is a possibility. 😂😂

Hoping for good content and u watching the show for longer time. 😁😁🥳🥳
