I think this is because most ITV shows are women oriented and for women but the women still like to drool over men. Second men are given backstories, and women are just made to save the day. Even though men belong to the angry young man template mostly there is still a little variation- some are decent, some angry young man, some pathetic, etc. Most women are perfect with not an ounce of grey. There are exceptions and things are changing but it's going to be a while before FDs stop irrationally bashing the FL and making excuses for FL.

I remember your post was on of the first posts on Pallavi and it was beautiful. Back then the AT was empty and now it almost runs at the same speed as RRs.

Pretty sad though- FLs have to walk such a thin line- can't be too rebellious, will be rejected by audiences, can't be too perfect, she'll be called 'mahaan'. MLs ko saat khoon maaf!

That post was my first one on the forum, how nice that you remember! The amount of bashing she got for the mirchi prank had blown my mind, whereas Raghav could get away with anything- "woh aisa hi hai".

I love how vibrant abd active this AT has become! ❤️
