Can't say that's his destiny .. but there is some link to that haveli .. his fear probably stems from the rejection he faced due to jagirdars and their jagirdari ..

What I didn't follow is the scene where his steps are shown backwards later after moving forward ..

I think the footsteps going backwards meant that he is not meant for that place but his subconscious is still drawing him there, it is more like his brain knows that haveli is not for him and he will have nothing to gain but his heart is magnetically drawn there, to a point where he is dreaming about going there.
