Many times the shows that start with different concepts fail and then the makers try to revamp the show to make them likeable for the TRP audience. The reason behind this is for years ITV has only been about a mahaan agyakari female lead sacrificing her happiness for her husband, extended family or parents. As the younger generation, we sign up to watch some shows due to their initial concepts and mostly get disappointed when we see the show going away from what was promised.

However, sometimes even though the show makes no sense people still keep watching the shows due to their liking for the lead pair or certain aspects of the show😆. So the channels or the makers don't waste their energy on bringing progressive changes as they get the numbers and profits easily by showing anything.

I truly hope the TV channels understand the preferences of the different target audiences and bring shows that have various flavours rather than serving old wine in new bottles

@bold this thing totally TV channel and Makers should do it..... They can make 100 या 200 episodes show for that audience jo kux different love to watch..... And they can also make Show for TRP audiences..... 😆

One thing why I feel that progressive shows don't get trp is because TV is mostly seen by the elderly of the house or middle aged people who have always watched shows like saas bahu drama sautan drama. And such shows are their comfort zones.

Youngsters who work or are mostly busy and get time only at night can't watch these shows because channels air them in the evening when we will be travelling back home or in the office. I so want to watch show on tv but I can't always as I am mostly travelling during that time. Hence I watch on hotstar.

That's why the trp on tv decreases. And ladies who are interested in saas bahu drama have convenient time slot given to them too. Why not for our preferred shows??

your right that type of are their comfort zone and sometimes they just whatever is going on the channel one after another because they don't change channel

Time slot also a big issues bec most of the people doesn't on their TV on 6 yaa 6. 30 pm because they are busy with house work, office work yaa they spent they time with their family

Channel and makes doesn't do proper promotion after launching the show....

But then why were the 90’s show so progressive and still find audience?🤔

Not just elders but young generation as well

The first thing that came to my mind when I read this topic's title was my comment. I meant that more of a joke. I think most people didn't get it.

What's a progressive show and what's a non progressive show?

If MHRW and SAAK are progressive, then anupama and ghkkpm are non progressive, if this is the case then I will say it doesn't matter with the mid aged audiences. Because my mom, a middle aged working woman watches both anupama and Saak (the other versions).

She watches the anupama version because she likes how the FL fights against her problems. I have had lots of fights with her for watching that show and she watches Saak version because she likes the story.

After a stressful day at work, she sits infront of TV at 7 with a cup of tea to enjoy, to watch something on TV, there she watches what she likes, it doesn't matter with the progressive or not.

So what I'm saying is, TRP audiences, the one who distribute to TRP are not always non progressive.

I'm extremely sorry if my comment hurted anyone.

Now it makes complete sense

What I understand with regressive content is the fact that showing ML or for that FL is brushing the grave mistakes under the carpet and pretending as if everything is rosy and pink around.

One should tolerate nonsense to a certain limit, beyond that it’s a clear ‘No’ for both the genders, not just female

I agree to that point.

There are lots of things I hate in some shows.

BTW which 90's show you were talking about?

I think ppl watch for entertainment more than what show is preaching. If something is entertaining then they will watch irrespective of other issues. Like reality shows have audience. TMKOC is continuously top rated. Mythological shows have audience. So I feel its more about how engaging and entertaining a show is dn jst cause or lack of it. If most loyal fan base too fast forward scenes when they hv choice dn a regular person watching on TV won't show that much patience for a show. And entertainment is subjective. Old gen have dere likes new gen hv dere.

I was about to write the same thing.....we people overlook the fact that majority of the audience watch any kind of show purely for entertainment. Jaha unko maza ni ata they simply switch the channel. In reality shows, end result is only one winner and that is what keeps it running. Incase of mythos, the end is known so audience sit prepared after hearing the stories since childhood. But when it comes to modern day daily soaps, audience genrally do not like to see the real picture of the world....unko pata hai ki ye sacchai hai but still they prefer unrealistic story because that is a fairytale land jahan they all feel happy while realistic stories are bitter
