For me, it happened in 2019 when I decided to go to Spain and teach English abroad. For a quarter of my life, I lived according to my family's dictation and had suppressed so many aspects of my life that were vital for me to grow as a person. Knowing I won't be able to do any of that with them around, I left.

The contract was for six months, but due to COVID it got cut down to just three. But those months were glorious and I got to step out of SO many comfort zones and it made me realize that I am capable of doing so many things. That I'm not just able to write strong women in my stories, but I'm actually able to BE one of them.

There are quite a few things that I have forgotten in that respect due to staying at home for the past one year. But now with things reopening again, hopefully I can relearn them. 😊

So what have been your #DMKK moments?

Being in family where every one is like 6 feet tall and some more than that whereas main sirf 5 feet ki hu .

Always dealt with it from class 10 and still dealing arre height choti hai , arre bhai se height le leni thi , how small you are , do you get clothes from kids section and what not .

I use to get offended , feel bad , curse god that why me . But then I realised why i am letting other decide how should i look , what should i wear to look tall

College days i took a oath just love the self you are . Dont let other thoughts bother you .
height doesnt matter what matter is how you are as person .

There are many moments jidr i didnt let society decide for me but this one is special beacuse idr se self love ki journey start huyi thi

I can so much relate with this...I'm also short even shorter than 5 feet...when I was in school everyone used to tease me that I'm short...they used to call me with names like butki, batli, ye bachha kis ka kho gya hai and all those things were damm irritating..after 10th I stopped getting out of my house and even slightest mention of height uesd to bring tears in my eyes....ek din papa ke samne aise hi ro padi main...then at that moment my papa told me that "there are so many ppls out there who are even shorter than you...you are not the only one...it doesn't matter how tall you are what matters is how you are from your heart and from your thinking...that's makes you different than others not your height"....and now also these words rings in my ears whenever someone calls me short...and from that time I stopped paying attention to such things....

Now also some are there who calls me with names but I don't let them bother me....what I know is..."People doesn't recognize you with your height they recognize you with your work and your success"
