"Uffo!, kya hai I said I will come back in 2 minutes! " said kanya,
Kanya was a simple, sweet girl who has dreams, like any other girl but she is the most loved girl. Her parents are proud of her, her professors found her as a very bright student, she was a good and kind friend for everyone and she also was her college's basketball team captain (girl's team, obviously). She has just graduated from college, after shedding a lot of tears, and remembering every memory of her life she spent in that college. It was time to move on.
She surprised everyone by not accepting the job offered by the News Company, by taking a part-time job in and Old Age Home. Every person over there found kanya as the daughter they always wanted, they loved her and were always a jolly group of old men and women when she was around. She was strict with them, kind and loved each of them. She was 26 and her parents were after her to get married
"26 yrs old and still unmarried, when I was ur age, I already was ur mother" said her mother, pammi, whenever she could. But kanya was her father's apple of the eye, no one dared to make kanya sad because they would have to face Anand for that. He always came to kanya's defence, "Pammi!, kanya is big enough to make her own decision" he would say. But kanya wanted her special one, she always dreamt of him as a kind, smart, quick witted and loved by all kind of guy, but till now kanya only met idiots.
Back to reality, "2 minutes!" said aunty susan,, "2 minutes mein kitna ho jata hai, an earthquake can come and cause its destruction, 2 minutes mein I can die, 2 minutes mein u can fall in love, 2 minutes! It was because of this 2 minutes that I fell in love with ur uncle Hemant." "O God!, aunty susan, 2 minutes mein I can go and use the loo also!! Always fall for the worst conclusions! And don't worry, my love life can never be a legend like urs! Don't u knw im going to die alone!" said kanya, "u wont die alone, u will have someone for u!, I say beta! I can see u have ur son by the end of next year!, mark my words! Till now I never have failed in my predictions!" said aunty susan. "Ah! Ur predictions don't fail naa? How come our grand daughter shreya was told by u that she will come first and she ended up failing?, Kanya beta don't liste to missis," said uncle hemant as he entered the room. Sheepishly aunty susan replied "kanya u had to go to the loo naa?, aur tum" indicating her husband "what ur problem!, im telling the girl to get married, I was already married to u at her age!, till now im suffering" "and im the luckiest man in this world!" retorted uncle hemant. Smiling Kanya left for the bathroom, she always wanted a love story like Uncle Hemant and Auntie Susan, an old couple who were left in the old age when their son's got shifted to US.
They could have left but they never left Panchmeshwar, this was the place where their love story started and they promised that this will be the place they will die for each other. The town was filled with stories of love on each part of the land here. Kanya always wanted to go to the Big house over the hill, it belonged to a couple who left years back with their son(Kanya saw him only once when she was 5 and he was 7), the house always looked like a place where some amazing love story took place, but she couldn't go alone, it was a bit scary.
Getting out of the bathroom she crashed into someone. "Theek se nahi chal sakti!, andhi hai kya!" some one shouted at her, she looked up to see who it was who dared to raise his voice on her, she stared at that person and he kept staring at her their eye lock was disturbed by "Kanya! I cant find my glasses" screamed uncle Nahar. "Aati hoon!" replied kanya she turned to the stranger and said "mister, I have the rite to ask u shout at u, dikhta nahi hai this is FEMALES Bathroom, this is and old age home, not a place for chick-staring, if u want the males bathroom then go there, and if u r here for chick-staring then ur a…a….a…. eew!" and she walks off, leaving this new stranger wondering 'Kanu hai ye Kanya'!
