As for Adi, In the initial episodes itself it was very clear, he was least interested to pursue the marriage with Malini. He was the happiest when he got the lead for SK's story. Not the slightest disappoinment that it will stall his wedding.😂😂😂

And he was promising to get back for the marriage for Malini, not for "them". He didnt even call her once he reached there remember!?

I feel it was quite clear from the beginning the relationship they shared. There was too much of formality/courtesy or whatever u call it b/w them. It qualified as too serious for even friendship acc to me.

He dint! It was always her who was taking steps in their relationship.

I agree. Remember her convo infront of Devi ki Murti claiming apne best friend se pyaar kiya etc etc. She's seen her parent's toxic marriage and hence never wanted such a thing in her life. So she chose her best friend because she thought compatibility and matching opinions means they're perfect and they'll never part or ever drop to the kind of relationship her parents have.

Bold: Adi is an intense person by nature. Woh agar sach me Malini se pyaar karta, he would never have gone towards anybody else which is why we can surely say love has only been Imlie. For Malini u can say compatibility, not even friendship.

When they selected same shoes.. she said itne saalon mein aapki pasand toh mein jaan hi gayi hui .something like that.. so, it was not Malu's choice or their choice was similar but she knew what Adı would like. Similarly, she had stopped playing Holi bcoz Adi used to not like. So, their relationship building was like lots of efforts from Malini side. May be bcoz of parents relationship she was too much dependent on her relationship with Adi. When Adi was suppose to return from PD1 visit, I remember her saying to Dev aaj Adı ke aane ke khushi mein sab pass(she was correcting exam papers). So, from Adı's side it looked more like obligation than ever love.

100% true..That, and the times she used to be real insecure during his first trip..I mean arent couples supposed to, after 7 years of being in a relationship, reach a point where they can say they trust the other person? She was very insecure, clingy and possessive. It can be argued that it was because she held her mom and dad responsible for their dysfunctional marriage and thought if someone can tune themselves to align their character with the other, then a marriage could work out. Thats why Adi said indirectly that talking to Malini made him feel like talking to a mirror. There was nothing new or original about her.

But here you cant blame Malini too. She just wanted at any cost, avoid a marriage like her mom and dad. So she thought if she could be compliant with her partner everything could work out. Little did she realize that even if you are complying to each other, the marriage can still go toxic, like Dev and Anu. She was just judging their relationship on its face value. They were also suffocated by each other just by trying to 'settle down' with each other like her and Adi when there was no love for each other.

Malini dint know the truth. All she saw was her parents who supposedly fell in love with each other but just had a relationship which is toxic and suffocating. So she felt knowing a person, spending 7 years, learning his ideas and tuning to those likes can make that best friend a good husband. Falling in love and marrying immediately, she felt it would someday turn like her parents marriage. Ofc this is what I feel when I look at her in the initial episodes, her dialogues infront of Devi ki Murti, her family history.

It wasn't love waala love between them ever. Bas kuch palon me woh dosti waala pyaar thoda dikhta. Baaki most of the times it was just being compatible.

M knew everything changed after her father visited PD. I'm assuming her insecurity was because of that as well ki wahan jaake Adi bhi na badal jaaye. I felt that listening to her conversation with Adi when he had called from PD.

Bold: they came together by choice. There was love but not a deep one. She grew bitter when she had an inkling of his affair. But they stuck on to save their face in society.

Agree. But bcoz of all these external factors we could not see real Malini. Her reactions were always very guarded. We knew from 1st episode itself that she was insecure.. sirf Imlie ka awaaz sunke...she was getting suspicious. We always saw her noticing Adi's inclination towards Imlie but jab ye muah kholti thi toh kuch aur hi bolti thi. Later, when she couldn't ignore as Adi became vocal in his support for Imlie she started opening up... But again after truth revealtion .fussss..

Bcoz of all her this guarded behaviour I never find her concern for Imlie genuine it came across as first to impress Tripathi's n later Adi

Oh yes! I was about to quote this..we are yet to see the real Malini. Because of her delusion about Adi's love, her being mahan and uncertainty about her own decisions..the actual Malini is somewhere behind the clouds. But we saw a glimpse of her during her "Sindoor" fiasco with Imlie. That was the actual Malini when angry! Yet to see the other 'variants'. 😂😅
