its not even one person watching if you go by traditional method. one person watch or family of 10 watch it only one impression from that household would be calculated. As i dug deeper, their methods are so unreliable, in traditional method if you watch the entire episode, the system would capture just a min of that

atleast in US, its better not completely reliable as there viewers in millions are secondary for them the most important ratings for network TV is 18-49 demographics

Has the BARC site stopped showing individual impressions for shows? I remember it being there a few months ago, but seems to have vanished today! 😕

yup they stopped i guess, now only channel impressions are displayed

For simplicity, assume that every household has the same number of people watching (so impressions don't vary)

A 1.7 TRP would indicate 748 meters of the 44,000 watching KKB at that time?

And because our sample set is 1,76,000 (44,000 *4), that's means 2,992 folks were watching KKB in that period.

So a TRP of 0.4 would roughly indicate 176 meters or 704 folks watching it.

This is of course a simplistic calculation (not all meters may be on during the period, and some may watch it for 5 minutes, others for more- which would necessitate a weighted average), but it again shows effing useless and open to manipulation this system is.
