Most of us know it is not the end of the world. But people are still frustrated, angry and upset which os very normal.

Age has nothing to do with it. It is basic human emotion to feel frustrated and upset with the things you are attached to. I have seen people in all age groups ranting, bashing writers, crying, creating chaos when they ruined GOT in the last season. I have seen Star Trek fans in 50s bashing changes in new series, crying over ruining old storylines, new actors etc. I have also seen people in 70s and 80s crying over England losing the football finals a couple of days ago. It is also just a sport just like TV shows. Emotions don't have logic. Many people work on emotions and it is healthy also for your psychological health.

The thing is you can not know or decide what show matters to others. In this lockdown when people are disconnected from human contact, increasing divorce cases, break ups, they might be finding mental peace with any show/sport/cooking/reading etc. So they develop an emotional connection with that thing.

I read one case where a woman was about to commit suicide and was waiting for her husband and son to leave the house. Before leaving her son just started Kapil Sharma show on TV and left. His mom watched it for two hours and her decision was changed and she did not commit suicide. After that the show became very important and a big deal for her. So you never know what the other person behind the keyboard is going through.

I have an issue with desi tv in general these days and like most of you mentioned - it is so hard to get vested in a show these days because it is the same old run of the mill formula. I remember when Ekta-star plus type shows started gaining momentum in ITV, my solace was Pak serials ... but now even they are in the same ratings etc league. There are very few desi serials to watch - and yea my quotient is similar : i want a good rom-com. Either I feel there is no good content anymore, or all the best ideas were from 80s to early 00 lol. In Western TV, my fav is comedies but the last good comedy show for me was big bang theory and now i don't even get the humor in current shows. I don't know if there is a lack of creativity in this world of digital media or what but there is hardly anything good to watch on TV these days. Everything is "Reality TV" which for the most part is FAKE and doesn't interest me much. For now IPZN was the only TV show I was watching and that too is ending.

The reason I am sad is not the fact its ending, but that we are going to get an even more rushed end. Hence I wished ITV would consider finite serials that run a 8 month type span and then if it becomes popular they can create Season 2 / 3 etc. But give it 8 months to tell the story completely without rushing events and climaxes.

@bold: Oh my fav too. I still watch it on repeat😆

Have you watched Silicon Valley and Young Sheldon? I watched these recently and liked these a lot. Young Sheldon is still running. But yes, western comedy shows have also become very repetitive.

I’ve watched young Sheldon and I can watch it if it’s on but I don’t have it in me to actually follow it. 🤓

Maybe it’s because I don’t have much time and I need to really love something to watch it ... IPZN was that for me ... so much that I enjoyed discussing and laughing about it here in the forum

I've liked a lot of Pak serials in the past but I agree that most shows nowadays seem repetitive. Before IPZN, I was desperately looking for a Pak show like DED or YQS or ZGH even but no such luck. Mostly romcoms with a poor humor and/or kitchen politics family dramas are popular nowadays. I also watch Turkish shows for my romcom dose but like I was telling Kanika earlier, my desi heart and emotions can't relate to it the same way. I like how they don't shy away from intimacy on-screen but maybe because of that (or something else, IDK) the romance doesn't have that same amount of charm I feel when I watch a proper desi romance show. Last I think it was YUDKBH where I actually liked the romance, mostly because the show was so nostalgic but despite the show being good overall, I couldn't really follow it after a point when once they grew up.

Western TV for me is basically me watching my old favorites. I don't have any new favorites and don't have the time or the emotional capacity to invest in any 😆 And I'm with you on this one. I knew that IPZN would likely be a finite show if it stayed true to its original theme but I wanted it to properly run its course. 8 months, like Param said, is actually a decent runtime for a show like this. If they wrapped thing up nicely in due time, I would've been super satisfied as an audience. Now it feels like a waste of my time and emotions and sleep hours. Not to mention, a waste of our subscription money😳 Kanika did you decide what you'll be watching for the rest of the year? Meko bhi suggest karna please😆
