Even I was outraged at the regressive thought of the Ts Whatever ji. Makers clearly threw us under the bus with the turn of events. Thats because we had not gotten a hint previously that the Tripathi's had their own latent ugly mindset in them, that would pounce right at us when the time comes. Its something we can all agree that neither Aparna's actions or words could ever be justified. Atleast among the viewers they do not deserve forgiveness.
Imlie will be forgiving them, that is another case. But what I am really looking forward to is how the makers are gonna turn this around if ever there is a redemption as such. When I thought about it, the Ts are just representing that part of the society that preaches progressiveness when they all are silently regressive. Thats what is happening here. I thought of dropping it altogether because I was kinda certain that the redemption of Tripati's will be through some lame NDE of Imlie or some agent that makes them sympathise with Imlie.
But today we saw Adi hinting that he will be fighting against this stigma starting his home. I am kinda hopeful that, if the storyline takes that direction, it will be more about how Adi makes the Ts realise their mistakes and accept Imlie for what she is. Not through some fever dance or some lame sympathy inducing elements. Looking at how blindsided the Ts are acting now, its gonna be a real toughy for the makers to convince us and may be justify the Ts POV.
Oho now that you guys have gotten me started here is more from me..😊
@Bold: This! You said it. Imlie will be the mahan bahu beti ultimately, but I also want to see that all justified..even if they manage to do that mildly I will be a happy viewer. Imlie going to pooja with the senior T's was cancelled by me! Nada! Fail! I think I had mentioned to _seera_ in one of our discussions that this might follow a simlar arc like Adi's realization..Imlie's NDE. Again not the way this should be handled...but the makers creativity level is pretty much hit a block. Going by the rumors there is going to be some bahu competition, some bhook hartal..so much for Aparna saying "mere ghar mein koi tamasha nahi chahiye" 🤔
Ek toh Aparna needs to stop doing "fasaya and chungul and jaal"! Is she talking about the same Adi who literally lives life on his own terms! Mutlab kitna faltu argument!
Imlie was a show I got hooked on to because of the way they had their screen plays written with some really candid yet impacting dialogues. The dialogues have always elucidated the point/the emotion. In case of AKT and Imlie it still works that way..not to mention their acting does half the job.
I wanted to see Imlie and Adi doing some explaining...putting their feelings into words to untangle all the confusion the family has, use their words to help the family decipher why destiny brought them together and why they chose to be together..! Like yesterday why did Adi not answer Aparna's question of why Imlie decided to stay here, why did she chose to become a naukar and stay with them? And why did Imlie not explain to Aparna that yes she did not want to leave PD and come here with her own will, but today she does not see a way back because with him is his abode...yaar why are we guessing and interpreting this!
Does the talking/explaining help in removing the social stigma, maybe not. What will, a gradual change in feelings when one starts to understand how and why something (in this case Adi and Imlie's relation) became so important and how it is above and all..! And that understanding comes when there is a proper conversation...not attacking with naagin ko doodh pilaya types!
Uff! I need wine now! 😆
