Vaishali, this is exactly what I was discussing with someone yesterday. Many are stressing that Raghav did this to give Pallavi the closure she needed but I have always felt Raghav is doing this only to protect Kirti and he had to do this because Pallavi wanted justice and she wasn’t ready to give up until the truth is revealed. So since he is doing it because she didn’t give him any other choice, it feels like he is doing it as a closure to her but he is doing it to protect Kirti. He knows he is hurting Pallavi but he has been telling her, this is all he can do and how it needs to be done in order to give her the justice she needs.

exactly !! Ihave no other option but to copy paste someone's post from a thread and many seem to support and have the same view ..so below is the post (in red) that prompted my reaction-

First of all Raghav didn't choose Keerti over Pallavi. According to him, Keerti did a mistake and he didn't want his baby sister to rot in jail for that mistake. Secondly, even if at that particular situation he did chose Keerti then why isn't this understandable.

So here's the confusion many have since Raghav admitted in the jail scene that he DID NOT know that man he saved had died because the doctor called at 4am in the morning and said he was fine and discharged.. Sure Raghav felt no guilt in protecting Keerthi for 2 years because acc to him it was just an accident, didnt cost any1's life... BUT, on the day of vat savitri he DID come to know that the person he saved had died and that person was Mandhar!! He STILL chose to protect her which I absolutely understand.. I understand he freaked out because Pallavi was involved and she was hell bent on finding answers which he didnt want her to get..because then saving Keerthi (which he would've done anyway) would've been harder.. because it would've meant hurting Pallavi.. because there was no way he was gonna let Keerthi go to jail..

Raghav would've saved Keerthi from the charges, just an accident or murder..yes the guilt was much less, maybe not even there for 2 whole years because he was not aware the man died..

People are now constantly stressing on the point that Oh for him it was just an accident, so he was only protecting his sister.. yes but that was before he got to know its a hit and run case causing someone's death..also, if the man had died that night itself, in Raghav's arms, he would've still protected Keerthi..

Raghav going to jail was for Pallavi.. he had succeeded in his mission to protect Keerthi by destroying the evidence, Keerthi's confession that Pallavi had recorded.. There was no other way for her to prove Keerthi guilty. Case would've closed again. But Raghav knew what he did was unfair to her.. this was his way to make it upto her and in a way apologise..

I absolutely agree with you Vaishali. Like you said, the guilt he had in protecting his sister was less when he thought the man he saved was fine but after knowing that man was Mandar and Pallavi’s ex, he still chose to save Kirti. Even I’m not saying his choice was wrong but the fact remains that he would protect Kirti however the situation turns out to be. I think I send you a link to my post that day, where I was saying it’s a difficult choice for Raghav which I completely understand but when it comes to situations like this, there is no choice but to choose the truth and the truth is Mandar got killed by Kirti’s car. I can see why the writers are planning to change the story because at the end of the day, Pallavi can’t live in peace thinking she let a crime to be done without getting justice and Raghav can never let his sister surrender. It’s never a give in situation for both of them, so making someone else the culprit is the only way to go forward.

True. He was feeling guilty that he manipulated the recording and on top of it Amma as well says that if Pallavi is right, he should support her only. He can’t let Kirti go to jail and he couldn’t hurt Pallavi anymore, so he surrendered himself but it doesn’t give her any closure. She understood he is doing it for her, that’s why she has forgiven him and for him there isn’t any choice.

I wonder why Kirti isn’t tthinking even after Sunny has gone to the extent of manipulating her to steal her mother’s jewellery. Now if they get caught, is she again going to show her wrath on Pallavi for spoiling her plan to escape with Sunny and lead a happy life. Her character is beyond my understanding now.
