See there is a concept of good faith and bonafide belief. Pallavi and even the Deshmukhs have a bonafide belief that Mandaar is dead. Not missing but dead.

That renders Pallavi a widow in the eyes of the society and the law.

Moreover she married Raghav in good faith considering herself to be a widow

Obviously by reading the bare text we can say that Pallavi's first marriage is valid and RaghVi's marriage would be void ab initio but if it would have been a real life case, they could have fight the case on the above grounds of bonafide intention but since itv, I'm sure Raghav can forfeit his right to let Pallavi go back

It's interesting 🧐. If mandar comes back means their marriage is valid but she can opt to divorce him on the ground of him being a deserter.

If spouse is missing for 7 yrs then mrg is cancelled I think . 2 yrs so it may be valid n 2nd mrg is forced one .
