Who is Thakumaa ?

So it's been months since I watched BB and I am trying to catch up on the story. Can someone give a brief summary regarding who Thakumaa is and why is Bondita with her ? I am guessing she is part of Bondita's paternal family. But if Bondita had such a rich family then why were she and her mother living with Maama Maami ?

Thakuma is paternal aunt of Bonditha’s father. She has raised Bonditha’s father and his brother Shomik from childhood. After the demise of Bonditha’s father she went to Kashi for penance, returned just before Anirudh Bonditha nullified their child marraige. Tulsipur village people tried to kill Bonditha but narrowly escaped from it. Anirudh admitted Bonditha in Siluguri hostel for her safety where as Tulsipur panchayat announced a huge amount as reward on Bonditha’s life ( because she went against society rules for having communication with Anirudh). Her mami tried to harm her, in that fiasco she saved herself but forcibly taken by her Thakuma (Kalindi Das) to Krishnanagar. Anirudh went to meet Bonditha but he was insulted by Kalindi. He brought Trilochan to make talk with Kalindi but Trilochan was shocked seeing latter. After some episodes it was revealed that Trilochan was supposed to marry Kalindi in past but was cancelled by his father on the day of her wedding. She want to avenge for the insult of this, tried to manipulate Bonditha. Kalindi also fixed match with other person Chandrachur. With lot of twists, Anirudh finally run away with her on the day of marriage ( last min Sumati also gave consent to fulfill her dream of becoming Barrister Babu) and admitted in London school requested her not to contact hi. Until she fulfill the dream. He left her and returned back to India.

So Chandrachur's wife and her sister are Bondu's paternal cousins ?
