This is the only performance of hers that I have seen, and she was beyond excellent (esp for a newcomer)

You haven't seen Queen? That's her best performance by a huge margin and best film as well.

I remember being super impressed with Anurag Basu during his early films years. I thought he was going to become a great director despite the classic OTT BW stuff like Shiney rolling down not one but two flights of stairs 🤣 right before the police catch him and the awful AWFUL crying noises he got out of his actors. I was incredibly excited when he was first attached to Kites. That film and everything after (including Barfi because I can’t pretend not to see whole segments of straight up plagiarism) definitely didn’t go the way I expected.
