Wow! Sounds like they are laying ground for her win and also trying to justify it.

She is very good but not the best (purely my POV).

Any of them frankly are contenders for the trophy and it really doesn’t matter who takes the trophy.

I won’t be surprised if she wins as she has the factors: Maharashtrachi mulgi ( Mumbai is in Maharashtra and I don’t have to elaborate more on the political standpoint and the pressures they can create), she comes from a chawl and so has that common man, low income family background, her dad is an ambulance driver - another point as a front runner in COVID times even though he has been on the sets almost all the time in Mumbai and majority of the time in Daman as well. He so so chilled out and enjoys all the contestants singing. I like the guy.
And no I am not the phirangi maharaani 😂😂😂. That surely is a creation of the content team.

Actually Ashaji asked her to sing some piya bawari type classical based song. So she sang bhare Naina as it was recently sung and all the musicians were also prepared for this one.

Sayli might be runners up (a stretch) or top 3. Winner, na.

Four weeks finale so there will be any elimination or not?

I kind of wish Lataji had a video call but maybe that's too far fetched.

Then she asked, "All this western is fine, but will you be able to sing anything classical?"

She further gave an example of her own song, on which SMP sang a portion of Bhare naina.

Ashaji then instructed SMP to keep on listening to world music as it expands the singing range.

She further said, she also followed the practice.

I would take it as an endorsement from the legend about SMP's approach to music

Wow. This made my day. Asha ji herself experimented so much with different styles especially western. Who else can judge SMP better than her. At the age of 18 having her style and approach itself is big and legends favouring the approach is much better. Proud of her.👏👏👏👏
