OMG... just the dhamakedar duandaar episode I was expecting yesterday.
Character arcs ki baat karein to kya episode tha... showcase karne ke liye. haan... thode expected reactions and thode unexpected.
Aparna ko bura is baat ka laga ki Adi and Imlie had multiple opportunities to tell the truth.. when they were both questioned different times, but they decided to lie and hide the truth. that made them and their actions wrong for her. that's the reason for the slap.
Anu ke taunts and c family ke exit ke baad jo shuru hua mast drama tha...
Anu ka taunt that Appu is Adi's mom not hers and that there is something good happening today were bang on. sach coming out is the best thing that happened. kaise says, reactions kya they... all these are secondary.
ideally, Dev or Malini should've stayed back.. at least as moral support to imlie... but this just shows that they only pay lip service and dont mean what they say... always.
Aparna's statement that Adi has betrayed all of them including Malini was the reason for Adi to prove to Imlie that he was serious, as well as to his family to bring them to accept him and Imlie as husband and wife.
But the more he tried the more he ended up making a mess of it in front of his family... but boy did he try.
be it that "Na hum is shaadi ko bhool sakte hain na tum" or holding Imlie's hand in front of everyone and doing there phera, or elaborating that despite everything he fell in love and didn't betray Malini and had told her the truth.
Aparna and CK are understandably upset at his behaviour. we were too initially.
Gusse main hume mooh nahi kholna chahiye... woh aaj reiterate hua.
BK saying he supported Imlie coz she was innocent and truthful but she isn't both is also logical. from his perspective. she has lied to these family on multiple occasions. whatever be the reason or justification and however valid those might be. jab betrayed feel karte ho to poochoge nahi ki kyun kiya. you will lash out first. yahan pe bhi wahi hua.
with the younger lot, I guess there was a patience.. ki haan bhai tu bol apna sach... jo ki older lot main nahi tha...
all of Aparna and CKs questions were valid... To a large extent maine pehle hi bola tha.. Aparna Adi ko naa hi samjhegi na support karegi.
Aparna ne jab photo uta ke phenka and bola ki yeh parivaar ki yaadein hain isme is ladki ki koi jagah nahi, deja vu moment tha .. imlie ne bahut pehle bola tha yeh baat... Adi hamara optimist tha par...
Nishu Rupi rahenge... par bs ne bol diya. aap hamari patni ki izzat nahi kar sakte to hum bhi apni patni ki beizzati nahi sahenge. waise aage ka soch ke thoda curiosity hain.
Adi optimistic and Imlie realistic kya combo banaya ...
Adi ne bola ki Imlie ko nikal na chahta tha... par kismet ... tab use yeh bhi bolna chahiye tha... ki "..par jab bhi woh jaati, hum hi use wapas le aaye... hamare ghar aur zindagi main" and then should've continued with kismet.

I am glad that despite a our discussions and the BTS promo, the episode lived up to the promise and how.
Agree to everything you said about the T's feeling betrayed and lashing out in the only way possible. By demeaning Imlie and their relationship.
Each of them posed valid questions that all of us at one point have also asked. That shows that somewhere they are trying to understand the motivation behind his actions, but are so upset that they are not able to connect with his reasons.
Somewhere the conflict is also between the head and the heart. While they all love Imlie, that fact that they were betrayed and their guilt over thinking Malini was the culprit is what is pushing them to react with their head.
Loved how you said ke gusse mein ki gayi baat humesha has horrible consequences, which we will see.
Imlie has always been realistic about how the family will react. She said also 2 epis back, that I hope the journey towards acceptance is not very long. She knew she will be perceived as a naukrani and it will be very difficult for her to change that.
Adi has always been nit just an optimist, but also in his la la land, where he assumed that they will accept her just because they love her as a beti. Today he got his first reality check of many, till he understands that it will take a lot of time and forgiveness for them to accept her as his wife.

people are vicious when they r angry.. they say and do things that will inflict the same pain on others.. so wait… lower they go.. greater their guilt and better their redemption… 😍

Let me say - I loved all the Adi Imlie junior T pieces - so in that regard episode was good. I also liked all the questions raised against Adi and the defense of Malini and the injustice to her...it made sense to me. I also am onboard with T rejection of Imlie on account of deception, lies, loyalty and sympathy for Malini.
I grew up in a household in India and it is unfathomable for me that a respectable middle class family will use language like this to rant and verbally abuse a 19 year old they claimed to love like their own - without even listening to her POV.
Naukrani ki pechaan, benaam, begairat, naagin, not massoom and misbehaving with shaadi shudha man, mother sent her from village to city to trap rich men by acting innocent,,....these for me are vile accusations that constitute verbal abuse. i know for a lot of folks this adds the drama quotient - but what happened to everyone liking this show as its organic?
Do you believe the episode today was organic and real or highly hyped up, sensationalized, out of characterization for the T's...and more like the other run of the mill shows out there? What is the difference between T's and Anu? At least she says what she feels. T's are worse - they think they are fair minded and decent but are classist and hypocritical. I cannot profess to like the show for its organic real world underplayed execution and then like this overly vicious episode. They did not give her an inch. They crucified her on all counts - she was worried about. servant, photo on the wall, village roots, malini preference, their happiness, her concern that truth will not win and she will not be understood, it was overdone.
Imlie has hidden her marriage, become a maid, given her haq to Malini, saved Malini's life, Adi's life, gotten them out of jail, arranged for their son's marriage, none of this even passed through their head?? This episode could have been limited to deception and kept it real.
Can you go back and enjoy all the old episodes where T's seemed like simple genuine people who took Imlie just at face value and loved her without it being tainted with today's episode? When I look back to the episode where they sang as a family for Imlie just 2 days ago - the whole feel is gone now - they were slumming with the naukrani is what remains. Will you believe in 2 weeks when they flip - that miraculously all their classist and hypocritical ideas changed when they act all loving to Imlie again (just like before).
Just cannot trust T's is the take away from episode today and that is a loss for viewers who loved the show for its real organic genuine non hyped feel.
If I were Imlie - I would refuse to say anything in my defense but still stay with BBSB - to honor the saath he gave her. I would not leave the house nor even try to win the T's back. You don't dignify abuse like this with a response....but you do appreciate saath with loyalty.
Sorry about the rant - just loved the T - Imlie equation, Inconsistent characterization is the death knoll to any story.
