I started the movie with the promise of it being a horror. Midway, I ended up being traumatised rather than scared. It was a good movie no doubt, but for me only a one-time watch. The whole film stressed me out from start to finish. I was constantly rocking back and forth, worried that her husband will catch on that Bulbul loves Satya. Every subtle and not-so-subtle hint of her affection had me ageing at least 20 years.

Then the dreaded moment of her husband beating Bulbul. I just took off my glasses and watched the scene with blurry vision because it was too much for me. But it turns out, things were only going to get worse.

Simply put, I cannot watch movies with rape in it. I’ve never been able to stomach it. So I transitioned between being horrified from the physical abuse to straight out traumatised when she was raped. I fast-forwarded the scene and had to pause the movie. You really feel Bulbul’s perspective in that scene, the feelings of fear, dread, terror, and helplessness really hits you.

Overall, Bulbul was executed really well and maybe someone else’s cup of tea. However I don’t like movies that stresses me out to the point where I want to stop watching it.

I loved it. The movie connected to so many stories we already knew and it gave them a different meaning. I thought Tripti's acting was brilliant. I will remain scarred for life.

Yes liked it a lot, in fact there is a review thread that has information of recently watched films and Bulbbul is on it. T Dimitri is brilliant, and has a potentially strong career in her future if given the right films or if she chooses to cross over into HW.
