Pran was first choice to play Thakur but then Sanjeev Kumar played that character

Dharmendra was first offered Thakur's role and Sanjeev was offered Veeru, but due to romantic vibes between Dharam and Hema, he later took up Veeru's role (which the director eventually wanted).

If indeed Shatrughan refused Jai's role, he has done the greatest service to Indian film history. Really wonder, how he would have controlled his motor mouth and habit of trying to hog limelight in every scene, in Jai's role!

Sholay one of the best film of Bollywood. One of a kind. ⭐️ Will go down in history. I never get bored watching whenever it’s shown on any Indian channels.
