Chapter 14
After finishing the lunch they all went back. Anokhi and Shaurya were walking together, a little distance behind Chhaya and Neelu.
While walking back Shaurya commented "Anokhi Kadhi Rice was very tasty, thank you so much for sharing!"
Anokhi with a deep smile looking in his eyes said "You are most welcome!!" She looked down and blushed a little after that.
As it was the last day, a lot of people were coming and looking at the model and Gurvinder was giving the presentation every time! That day they had to stay for longer hours till 5:30pm as it was the final day of the exhibition.
Around 4 pm Shaurya Sir came and asked "Are you guys hungry?" He quickly stole a glance at Anokhi and asked again "Should I get some samosas??"
They all looked at each other but no one wanted to speak though everyone wanted to eat. Since no one said NO
Shaurya understood "Okay!! Then, I'll go get some. Who wants tea??"
Some said yes some said no.
Anokhi spoke with a little hesitant tone "I don't drink tea sir!"
Shaurya looked at her lovingly and asked "Okay! You want something else to drink??"
Anokhi smiled "No, I am fine, thank you!"
Shaurya looked towards Anokhi with a mischievous smile and told Gurvinder "You come with me, I can't carry all this by myself."p
Gurvinder happily agreed "Sure sir!"
They both went to the shop in the nearby market.
A few minutes later Anokhi noticed some students making their way towards their model!
Anokhi's feet started to shiver "Oh my God, where is Gurvinder?? Why is he taking so long??" She started panicking.
By the time the students reached their model Gurvinder hadn't returned so poor Anokhi had no choice but to give the presentation!
No doubt she did a great job explaining their model but she was avoiding it and was even successful till now. But till when, her luck had to run out sooner or later. At last she had to give the presentation. She did it but rather grudgingly.
After all the students left, Anokhi heaved a sigh of relief! But it didn't last very long as when she looked up she noticed Shaurya Sir and Gurvinder standing and smiling at Anokhi!
Shaurya looked especially happy and proud.
Anokhi looked at them horrified and thought 'Oh crap they saw me giving the presentation, couldn't they have come after some time.' She mentally smacked her head and cursed her luck.
Shaurya and Gurvinder walked towards Anokhi and It was clearly showing on Shaurya Sir's face that he was satisfied with the presentation. His face was filled with extreme happiness!
Gurvinder with a smirk said to Shaurya "Finally Anokhi gave the presentation Sir!"
Anokhi innocently replied "When did I give the presentation??"
Gurvinder with a shocked expression "Just now, we saw it when we were coming."
Anokhi with an irritated tone mumbled "Why did you see that?"
Shaurya and Gurvinder laughed out loud at this reply from Anokhi. Shaurya looked at her cute expressions and got lost in her eyes for a few seconds. He controlled himself in a jiff.
Shaurya excitedly said in a loud tone "You have done it Anokhi. See you can do it without any problem!"
Anokhi tried to change the topic "Didn't you go to get the Samosas, where are the Samosas?"
Shaurya smiled "Here they are!" He gave her one and then passed the rest to everyone else!
Anokhi thought to herself with an irritated look on her face 'I know he did this on purpose, he knew I would have to give the presentation if Gurvinder was not around...that's why he took him along! I am not gonna talk to him, he tricked me again. Jab dekho cheating karte rehte hain mere saath."
The rest of the evening Shaurya had a broad smile on his face, he was very happy, Anokhi on the other hand had a frown on her's! But she kept stealing glances at him, she loved his big smile and inside she was happy that she herself was the reason for it!!
Anokhi thought to herself 'I don't know if I should be happy because he is happy or mad because he tricked me into giving the presentation?? This is sooo confusing!' She shook her head in annoyance.
Soon it was time to leave and while leaving Shaurya reminded everyone to not bring lunch the next day.
Anokhi with worried face looked at everyone and thought to herself 'I am going to starve tomorrow while these guys will have a blast. God knows where we will go for lunch, if we go to a place where only burgers and such things are available, what am I going to do? How will I say I don't eat all that? What if Sir feels bad if I say something? But how will I eat also? I can't even bring lunch from home now, he clearly told us all not to.' She sulked. 'Wish I could skip coming tomorrow.'
Shaurya noticed her worried face "She is so worried, should I tell her?? I was thinking of surprising her but I think I should tell her otherwise she'll stay worried till tomorrow. And if she goes home like this then I'll be worried as well. Better to tell. I wanna see her smiling face before she leaves!!"
Shaurya asked loudly while looking at Anokhi "By the way do you all like South Indian food?? We will go to Sagar Ratna tomorrow, it's on the way and has great food too."
Anokhi suddenly had a smile on her face hearing this. "You remember!" she exclaimed!
Everyone looked at her in confusion and she realised in excitement she said it out loud and now everyone was looking at her!
Anokhi nervously looked at everyone and tried covering her mistake "I mean I remember it" emphasizing on I. "I meant I have seen this restaurant from outside, but I haven't been there!"
Anokhi scolded herself 'What were you doing silly girl? Got so excited and spoke out loud. Thank god no one understood what I meant! And I worried myself since afternoon for nothing. Sir remembers that I only eat Dosa outside. Wow!'
She looked at Shaurya with a big smile on her face and seeing her smile Shaurya had a satisfied smile on his face too.
Shaurya thought 'Mission successful! Now we can both go home in peace!'
Shaurya to Mrs. Sangeeta "Mam tomorrow I will come to school and we will all go together in the bus. After lunch I will need my scooter to come home and anyway I also need to safely get all these models back 8n the store room."
"Okay sure. Sounds good. Should we leave now?"
"Yes, let's go!"
Soon they were all in the bus heading home. First Shaurya got off and wished everyone goodbye and smiled. He took another glance at Anokhi and left!
Thursday Morning
Shaurya had come to school as discussed and they all left together in the mini bus!
After reaching the fair grounds they went to their models! Soon the ceremony started and they all received participation certificates. After that there were refreshments for everyone and around 12 pm they left from there to go to Sagar Ratna for lunch!
At Sagar Ratna
Everyone stood near the entrance as Shaurya Sir asked the waiter to arrange a big table for the 10 of them.
Soon it was arranged and they all sat on the big table including the driver & the photographer.
Everyone was busy looking at the menu and trying to decide what they wanted to order.
Soon Shaurya asked everyone if they had decided what they were having!
Everyone nodded yes.
"Ok lets order then!" He called the waiter and everyone ordered, some ordered Idli Sambar, some Sambar Vada, some Dosa & some Uttapam!
Anokhi ordered Masala Dosa and so did Shaurya.
Shaurya asked "What about drinks?? Does everyone like coke?? Should we order that?"
"Yes sure", everyone agreed!
Soon the drinks were served. They were all busy chatting with one another with excitement!
Shaurya was stealing glances at Anokhi who was sitting across the table busy chatting with Chhaya. He was just admiring her in between the talks!
Shaurya to himself 'She looks so happy and carefree, talking like there's no tomorrow.' He chuckled. 'She loves talking and I love hearing her! She talks so sweetly, though a bit fast sometimes it's so much fun to hear her. Just watching her talk is so satisfying. She is too cute.
As the waiter came with their orders, his chain of thoughts broke.
Soon everyone started to eat and like a good host Shaurya asked everyone if they liked their food. He kept looking at Anokhi, who was busy savouring her yummy Dosa and enjoying each bite of it! He smiled in satisfaction seeing her eating heartily.
After some time Shaurya asked everyone if they would like to eat something else?
Anokhi was the first to say "No way! It was such a big Dosa, I am totally full!"
"I barely managed to finish it." She muttered softly to herself.
Shaurya smiled at her response and mostly everybody agreed with her!
Shaurya offered "Maybe some dessert then? Gulab Jamun?"
"Lets have one - one at least?"
Shaurya said, looking at everyone, hoping someone will agree.
Anokhi thought to herself 'Seems like he loves Gulab Jamun and he really wants to eat.'
Everyone smiled and some nodded their heads in a yes!
Soon they were all eating Gulab Jamuns.
After everyone was done Shaurya paid and they all left from there.
Outside the restaurant
Chhaya and Gurvinder suggested that they take a group picture.
So the photographer started taking pictures with them all standing together, 6 of the students with Shaurya Sir and Mrs.Sangeeta!
Chhaya went up to Shaurya and said "Sir we really enjoyed your company, we have never been taught by you but it was really nice knowing you these past few days, we would love to have a picture with you to remember these wonderful days!"
Neelu nodded her head in agreement.
Shaurya also happily agreed!
While they were taking pictures Anokhi told Mrs.Sangeeta that she wanted to use the restroom and was going back to the restaurant!
When she came back, she saw everybody was taking pics with Shaurya individually!
Anokhi excitedly went to him and said "I also want a picture with you."
'I was waiting for you to say that, it would be awesome to have a picture of you with me, I would at least have some memories to cherish this wonderful time with you.' Shaurya thought to himself sadly.
Shaurya with a bittersweet smile "Of Course Anokhi, come!"
They both stood close to each other and got a picture clicked!
Soon after that they all got back on the bus and left!
First off the bus was Anokhi and after dropping everyone in their respective houses Shaurya went back to school. He left all the models in the store room and picked up his scooter and went home!!
All the way home Shaurya was thinking about the past few days with Anokhi.
How he shared lunch with her, how much fun they had talking, her presentation and irritated face after that and most of all her smile and excitement knowing where they were going for lunch today!
'I will always cherish these days! At least I will have some wonderful memories of the time spent with her, if not her.' He thought sadly!
