Ahaan completely did not trust Ishqi as initially he was shocked and broken esp after the letter. But he did talk with Maasi too and tried to find out facts. They did not get proper time for communication too. So obviously he does not know Ishqi so well and their relationship has not developed to know that she cannot run away.

They didn't meet each other much to know each other or trust each other so well. Most of the times they knew each other as someone else's fiancee or life destroyers.

They both have faults and they are changing. All these things are well portrayed. In Mayank's wedding each thing was shown in detail to show both of them root for each other part in detail.
