I am big SaiRat fan and I always tried to understand why a particular charector reacts...
In my opinion, Serial Virat is not denying... he is seeing that his family doesn't like Sai... but he doesn't know the extent to which the family treat and insult Sai.... in most of the major conversations he is absent or arrives in the half way and understands half baked facts (if we don't consider recent Sai outburst, that is whole different story and he is so self observed that day in gauging her feelings).....and even Chavans behave in front of him....and mostly doesn't cross their limits.... he is no expecting any compromises from Sai.. if he expects, he would have not told Sai to give back to them and would have told to adjust..
I am not justifying him, just understand his POV that from him he thinks that their family doesn't like like Sai at all and are never bothered about her. They point very small mistake of hers and create tamasha... he doesn’t know extent to which they hurt her, insult her... he is kept in dark from all these...
Virat as charector has flaws along with some good qualities.... he grew up in such a family where we are not allow to question back elders and always listen to them.... his is not confrontational... a person's upbringing plays a major role in the way he reacts to situations...... he is not same Virat as before.... he is changing.... he even gives back them... you can see in recent episodes.... he generally reacts only when he feels the situation is going out of hands.... for him to strongly react he should be pushed to limits and Sai does this... he is stern and ignored Kaku and going when Sai is about to leave house.... or when Sai left CN he gave back to them... etc., he need to pushed to extremes to react strongly.....
And good qualities are he is so caring and understanding even when Sai shouts on him and will hurts him with her words... Best quality is he has courage to accept his mistakes and ask apology..... not every one can do that...
This is strictly my POV....and sorry for the rant... Virat is very layered charector and tough to understand.....
