These stories were written primarily for adolescent readers. They are simple, yet clever and humane.

When I saw the trailer, I had difficulty recognizing the stories (except the Manoj Bajpayee one). Especially 'Forget Me Not' and 'Spotlight'. It's incredible how different they are from the original stories. A different ambience does not bother me. But a good adaptation should retain the spirit of the original work, I believe.

There is a distinct similarity between the vibes given out by Ray stories and the ones by Ruskin Bond. The two are quite similar in terms of themes, quirkiness and mood.

Does Harsh's Spotlight have any similarities to Vinod Khanna's life? Him quitting Bollywood at the prime of his career, joining Osho and leaving for America. VK is known for his divine good looks too. But on the otherhand he's quite a good actor too -especially in his 3 films with Gulzar. Unlike Harsh's character in the film.

Yes, but with a sharper edge. Some of his stories are distinctly creepy too.

Earlier, Dibakar Banerjee and Sujoy Ghosh have done well with Ray stories. So, I had high expectations from this one. Even though Srijit Mukherjee directing two films was a concern.

Liked Manoj Bajpayee one out of all the most followed by kk one but still its ending was too dark. Harshvardhan story tbh looked funny to me but the ending was pathetic . Ali Fazal one was the most boring one as like it was somewhat predictable

I don't understand why they brought Srijit into this. Should have been Anurag or Dibakar, or even Vishal Bharadwaj in his place.

Srijit's movies are enjoyable, but sometimes he tries too hard to be an "intellectual", in a manner that is downright jarring and funny.

I think Rahul Desai made some very accurate observations of Srijit's filmmaking style. He does so much better when he keeps things simple.

The best is Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa and second best is Spotlight, directed by Abhishek Chaubey and Vasan Bala. Srijit duto te e dubiyechhe. Bangalir naat katiye dilo.
