Whatever you said about consent is alright, I’m not saying that he deserves her even if she didn’t love him, my point was she didn’t choose to even think about him because of the class difference. Mahi doesn’t love Taimoor too but here she gave consent only because of the class and status of her family. So my point was, she didn’t give her consent to Farhad not because she didn’t think he can be loved, but because she thought someone from his class doesn’t match her status to even think about being in love with him and my friend these are Mahi’s words not mine, otherwise she wouldn’t ask Farhad that ‘Taimoor will give me bunglow, status and you can only give me a useless dil’ 😆.. The argument here itself says that the writer has made it a sad case of class difference which he is again indicating by showing a similar case with RomSik too, so consent here itself dependent on Farhad’s background and I think most of us will agree on this point.
For Myra, well, Humayun didn’t reject thinking that she’s not capable of him but because he was already committed and yes that’s more dependent on consent and choice, he was free to choose the girl he shall love and he chose his childhood commitment unlike Mahi who only chose a man because on paper he was eligible and mind you she chose him just few hours after rejecting Farhad, so if writer didnt want to show class difference then what are the odds that Farhad’s rejection and Mahi’s engagement happened on the very same day? Also, all the in depth conversations between Farhad and Dilawar regarding fairytale where princess abandons the royalty for the pauper only indicated the writer’s POV of showing that it indeed is the class difference and not the fact that Farhad didn’t deserve her, he didn’t deserve her because she was not ready to accept him and that rejection is rooted due to the class difference only.
Humayun and Myra are clear cases of consent whereas Mahi and Farhad are clear cases of Aamir gareeb crap only.
That's what Farhad believed when he was narrating stories of princess and pauper which can or cannot be true.
Nai..I don't think her consent was dependent on class difference alone. In matters of heart , there is no "reason" to like someone or not like someone. Nai Pasand toh nai pasand..pasand hai toh hai..apne dil ki chahat hai na... Everybody's benchmarks are different. There is no universal rule to like and dislike . Like there may be girls who will refuse to marry srk also, that doesn't mean srk is anything less and millions of other girls want to marry him. There r so many times we think "isko kaun NA karega" but it happens. It happens so frequently. Bec we r looking at them from our pov na ..ke is mein ye hai ye hai ye hai but may be someone else is looking something different .ultimately it's an assumption only na ke Mahi would have loved Farhad if he was rich. Shayad pyar karti shayad nai karti. We can't base our judgement on assumptions but facts , what was shown to us.
Beauty is subjective, status is subjective, choice of class difference is also a subjective thing. I would never want my daughter to choose someone like Farhad. No matter how good looking he is . The man is over emotional and weak. lives in some fairyland.
Mahis mom said she didn't want to marry a typical jagirdar. Now jagirdars r rich right ? Then why did she say that? Bec she wanted to marry a liberal guy , educated , etc etc etc her mom described her choice when rishta came . That's mahi's benchmark. Romana wants to marry sikka but due to her social status she won't be accepted. Ab iske liye we can't crucify sikkas mother. She is a tawaif. Pata nai kaun se jahan ki love stories nikali haisikka has more authority over his life so he continues to see Romana while his family objects. Romana might continue to love him from afar. Which is ok.. baddua toh nai de rahi ke tumne mujhe use kiya vaade kiye aur dump kiya .
