I use

AM

Cleanser (himalaya neem is gr8 for oiler skin)

Vitamin c: I mix a tiny bit of ascorbic acid powder into The ordinary resvetarol and ferulic acid and put that on

Moisturiser : ordinary moisturising factors with HA

Sunscreen ; neutrogena zinc (leaves a white cast for darker skin tones …but it looks ok on mine)

PM

Oil cleanse : almond or castor oil to remove makeup and sunscreen etc

cleanse : same as am

Retinol : ra Roche posay redermic

Moisturiser : same as AM

Rose hip oil/ evening primrose oil in the end

and off to bed

Exfoliation

twice a week instead of retinol I use corsrx bha liquid

Once a week , the ordinary Glycolic acid toner…

- a mix of gram flour, milk and turmeric which acts as an exfoliant.

- use yogurt to moisturize skin.

- freshly crushed cucumber face mask.

- natural remedies that can be made at home over a store-bought product.

I have extremely dry skin and even after trying out super-expensive stuff, Cetaphil still works better. My skin is so dry that it actually starts hurting if I don't get enough moisture and none of those expensive creams have done a thing.

As someone who buys expensive makeup and skincare, honestly it really depends on what works for you in the end. I have some expensive brands that I love and then some drugstore brands that I love. It's a mix bag for me.

One thing is for sure though, I would never tell anyone to buy La Mer. I have never used it because it's not worth it when you look at the ingredients. it's basically Nivea. Look up the history of this cream, lots of pseudoscience. It's a complete joke. If I had to recommend an expensive skincare brand then Clinique is great.

Oh I had almost forgotten Clinique for some reason. I used to use it a lot when I was in college. The yellow Clinique lotion and that other pink cream was one of the few things that did work for me. There are like 3 moisturizers max that work well for my skin and those were among them. But I hated the toners and other stuff. And Clinique make-up is disgusting especially the foundation. But then again, I never end up liking any foundation from any brand. Even after getting matched a million times, it still doesn't work out. 😭

Same here. That’s also because I have an extremely oily skin, in summer oil literally drips no kidding. I just invest in a very good compact powder with spf and that’s about the complete skin care I take. :/

I am just here to bookmarked this page because my face is full of acne with dark circles and I have tried several products nothing works good so far. But I heard about retinol so I might try that next

😂 guilty

But I do try to stick to good drugstore brands instead of ridiculously priced luxury ones

You are lucky. Oily skin usually ages really well. Dry skin can make you look like a granny if you don't dunk yourself in moisturizer constantly. And foundation is a nightmare on dry skin because it immediately looks cake-faced, no matter what brand or how little you use. I've even gone to weddings with no foundation at all because it still looks better than wearing it.

The less stuff you need to use, the better. Unless you're a professional or really really good at make-up, I think most people don't know how to do it that well. It's VERY aging. Full make-up makes you look 10 years older if you're just average at doing it. It's fine when you're 20. But by 30, you don't want to age yourself anymore. 😆

I get that all the time about having a wrinkle free skin when I get old, and I am like but I want a good skin now.😆 Oily skin’s only best friend is a pack of blotting paper, Powder compact, a good smudge free eye liner and a matte lipstick. Anything else is too much on my skin. We cannot ever use all those nice fancy products ever.

@Bold: Agree.
