Actually it was a concept adopted from a foreign country and these autos were supposed to be driven by female drivers.. but execute kahan hona tha.. it went into trash I think within one or two years

Hello All,

My first post here after months of stalking. The posts here are more interesting than the show for the better part. Many congratulations to all of you for keeping the spirits even when the show does its best to dampen them.

Anyway, all the debate about Shiva's actions made me want to share my two bits too.

To me, Shiva's this action was quite akin to the divine Shiva's swallowing of the halahala venom in a bid to save the world. He knew what his family's response would be, he was no fool, he knew how his words and actions would be perceived. His demeanor even from when the scene began was that of a man who was steeling himself for what was to come. In a weird way, it was like that of a suicide bomber. He knew this was going to blow up and destroy him as well, in a manner of speaking, and yet he had to do it. At least he believed he had to.

So why did he believe that he had to do it?

He knew that so long as the venom of the past was allowed to spillover onto his relationship with Raavi, they were doomed. He had to find a symbolic closure, and what better than the bangles. They were a manifestation of Maami's vile and vicious treatment of his family. Not to mention her duplicity and her thieving ways.

He would have been fine with their running feud to continue but Raavi had changed everything. Until he saw her as his mami ki behen ki beti, it was still okay, the fact of their marriage notwithstanding. But when he began to see her as more, he realized that things had to change. If they were to have a future together, the past needed closure of sorts.

When he made that demand of Mami, he was throwing her a lifeline. He wanted Raavi's perception of the mother-figure that Prafulla was to her to remain somewhat intact. He knew what she meant to her. And when she threw Raavi at him, he thought he'd make it about her too. It was all for her after all. So he said he would not move on with Raavi without a closure to the past. While his words could be construed as such, he was not really objectifying her, but instead implicitly stating that he would not embark on a journey with Raavi without burying past ghosts.

Even if he is in the dog house pretty much with everyone who loves him, Shiva must still see this through.

The bangles are an integral piece that will go to giving shape to the jigsaw puzzle that their relationship is.

I am not trying to justify Shiva's behaviour or words, they have hurt Raavi beyond measure. I am only trying to take a peek into his mind to try and understand what compelled him to do what he did.
