State Of Marathi TV.

This is probably the worst state of Marathi Television I have seen in terms of TV shows. From giving shows like Gotya, Pimpalpan, Shodh, 100, Raja Shivchatrapati, Abhalamay, Agnihotra we have come to this.

The channels are copying each other or remaking their own shows from different languages but even these remade shows are terrible in acting and writing department. They are throwing new TV shows at us hoping something will stick. Current Marathi TV shows are giving the impression that not much effort is put into their making. A good TV show have 3 basic ingredients: good writing, good acting and good production values. Unfortunately, Marathi TV shows are failing in all 3, in the first two exceptionally well. Writing does not mean only dialogues but the writing of the whole show.

Look how crime patrol has evolved. Earlier it used to be cheap and sensational but now they treat the crime in such a way that it has become a decent crime show , that is the result of good writing. I watched a few episodes last week and was surprised to see how they treated the story. Compare this to something amateurish like Nave Lakshya or that new real crime show on Sony or Colors.

Stars like Subodh Bhave and Sidhharth Chandekar must be really hard up on money to star in these shows.

The state of Marathi TV today reminds me of the state of Marathi Cinema in 80's.

प्रत्येक सिरीयल चा प्रत्येक episode ,हा कालच्या म्हणजेच आधीच्या episode पेक्षा वाईट असतो.

I agree about the channel heads/creative heads. I am not saying that all that came before is great but earlier their used to be attempts to create something worthwhile, even TV was considered as art now it is just business. Not that business is bad, all of us need money but atleast give some good shows.

Earlier, Independent TV show producers would pitch an idea/pilot to the TV channels and the TV channel would approve or disprove it. This would lead to some, if not all good shows. Now creative heads survey the 'market' and decide which type of show is to be created. Earlier TV channels used to shape the taste of people now people shape the TV channel shows.

If you watch the opening credits of any show, in most shows it is the TV channel that is credited with Sankalpana/Concept/Idea of the show. I think the TV channels tell somebody the idea of the show they want and then that somebody makes that show. Because of this creativity is controlled by the creative head and not by writer/producer.

I have spoken about this n number of times... Earlier shows were good in content and used to be of a shorter duration in number of episodes.... Tyamule content hota... Aata content chya naavavar kahihi asta.... Me barech juney shows baghtey sadhya YT var... Marathi che...of the year 1999-2000 ... Kiti sundar writing asaycha ani kuthehi OTT nahi... Vyavasthit maandni hoti.... Actors hi normal asayche.... Aata saglach borya....

If you watch Tipre, Prapanch, Nupoor, Megh Datle, Rimjhim etc they were really good on content and acting... Khup natural hota te... Aata vibhitsapanach disto.....

Aajcha TV khup cheap kelay hyanni business chya naavavar....

I have a slightly differing opinion and I have voted accordingly. The state of Marathi TV is not great but I think it can be improved😎. I am watching some Marathi retro shows on YT and the writing and acting is certainly better than current shows⭐️.

Marathi TV do have the ability to pull a surprise out of their hats, like Ek Ghar Manterlel or Bheti Lagi Jeeva or Navri Mile Navryala or Rudram🤡. Even before that there were shows like ELTG and ELDG. But yes such good shows are far and few between, the frequency of good shows is less😒. Some of the shows I mentioned did not get good TRP's but for me they were great shows👍🏼.

The plot of the show starts out interesting but then the channel heads butt in with their non-creativity and destroy the show😆. OurTV channels don't seem to have the concept of Parv/seasons. Season breaks allow the writers to take stock of where the show is going and make changes accordingly👍🏼.

This might be one of the major reason for the relative lack in quality😎 If writers are not given enough time to get their act together the show will suffer. To make matters worse, in such cases if the actors are not good that too will hamper quality of the show😆. Today both these factors seem to be major contributing factors toward relatively lower quality TV shows.

Good story/script and dialogues is the core ingredient of any good serial be it hindi or marathi....

ELDG, agnihotra (season 1), rudram were last good serials... HSM, JYRG were close to that till 200/250 episodes... Nantar script bighadlyavar saglya serial chi waat lagate...

Seriously, sagli kade hech aahe, Hindi shows pan TRP sathi kahihi kartat, Marathi madhe pan tech chaltay.

Khara mhanje navin bekar ideas anun kahihi dakhavnya peksha changle katha Kadambari gheun thanchi story banvayla havi. Limited show, great content. He limitless shows madhe story, writing and acting sagla bekar hun jata.

Mi ata fakt Ahilyabai pahte, tithe pan ek mahina pasun kahitarich chalu hota, kaal ek changla episode aala, parat drama suru hoil asa vattay. 🥺
