BJP govt tells CBFC to be strict against movies that are "anti-India"

How are they going to decide what is Anit-India? For example, if a movie is exposing it’s PM, can be called a movie that is anti-India? Is Nayak Anti-India? Is a movie like RDB anti-India?

According to the present act, a film shall not be certified for public exhibition if, in the opinion of the authority competent to grant the certificate, the film is against the interests of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the state, friendly relations with foreign states, public order, decency or morality, or involves defamation or contempt of court or is likely to incite the commission of any offence.

The ministry has now proposed granting revisionary powers to the government on account of violation of Section 5B (1) of the act. It cited Article l9 (2) of the Constitution which imposes reasonable restrictions upon the freedom of speech and expression of citizens for the same.

There you go - in the opinion of the authority competent to grant the certificate!!!!!!

All this is just mumbo jumbo to threaten filmmakers from making cinema exposing misgovernance and corrupt nature of the BJP.

Next I think they will ask scripts to be submitted to govt before filmmakers start shooting.

Actually this is India Forum...and writing for India...and specially post mentioned something about India...So obviously writing only for India right😆

“Morality and decency” are they going to target movies with sex scenes under that criteria? Also this could be easily used to target movies that depict same-sex relationships .
