They don't anymore since they already have a long line of future superstars (read starkids) waiting to be launched.

But they should get back to it if they are serious about the artistic aspects of film making.

Sai Pallavi for sure. With her petite build and exceptional acting skills, she will rock as Sita. 👍🏼

About deepika, I don't think she can act in these kinda magnum opus dramas....it's her PR that hypes her up, she's more suited for cocktail, yjhd, CE.

It's the exact things like the death threat, supporting jnu students and shit like that that she does in the name of PR/promotions before movies release that I would rather her not do sita....lest the movie will be remembered for all wrong reasons

At the end of the day Sita is just a flower pot role. Any actor who's cute and a bit snarky can do that role. DP has done it somewhat as mastani and padmavati. But literally anyone in the new gen could do it.

Yes, she is a princess married to a crown prince and she lives a life of hermit in a jungle with unprecedented grace and selflessness. Her anguish at the thought of being maligned and judged because of Ravana, despite all she went through, is beyond words. A princess who chose to live like an ascetic, a goddess who exercised remarkable restrain and selflessness! How is she a flowerpot role?
