I think that is the beauty of the character even in the OG. I think the message is kind of that (young, naive) girls generally get carried away with the idea of romance and charming heroes. They fantasize about dinner dates and hand holdings and what not⦠which probably constitutes about 1% of life.
They never think about the rest of the time- when they have to work at home or outside, when all the responsibilities come crashing down, and in many cases they have to fend for themselves. Not many fantasize about boyfriends or husbands helping with house chores⦠it is something trivial- not very thrilling or exhilarating.
But there is something very soothing and beautiful about a caring partner who silently lifts some(or all) of your burdens away. That is Raaviās character growth- to understand that there are different kinds of love- not just what is shown in Bollywood. Shiva loves her in his own āunromanticā way.
This is a trope as old as time btw⦠any Mouna Raagam fans in the forum? š
Also, I have noticed in a couple of shows lately⦠ITV has made āzimmedariā into some sort of a swear word. Itās like you should stay with your partner only if you are fully completely in love with them, otherwise your marriage is a sham⦠what BS. As others have mentioned in the thread, loves comes much later in the marriage in many cases. And sometimes love waxes and wanes⦠you fall in and out of love with your partner.
Taking responsibility of someone and following through with it is so powerful- not everyone can do it. Thatās why we love to hate on Dev. He couldnāt take responsibility of Raavi or Rishitha. Rishitha ended up sticking up for him despite everything.
yāall have caught me in the middle of a mood swing. I promise after this mood swing is over I will become accha baccha and only silently stalk the forum š
this is written so beautifully! Shiva truly makes life much easier for Raavi.. she only needs to see it ā¤ļø
