but i sorta think a lil different on this, while expectations rise, but itv also shows really bad nincompoops as ML too, sometimes. toh girti bhi toh h, some of the things they show are harsh reality too. Zyda expectation toh hollywood aur korean dekh ke rise hote, baccho ke bhi

We take a part of it to our real lives too.

In reality, men and marriages and be 10 times worse. Expectations especially from women are more. 90% people never change in life. And in a marriage, one person always makes more compromises in life for a marriage to actually work. One person will always be happier. Rarely will we see both reciprocate the same love and compromises for each other. Even if we do find someone who unconditionally loves us, that person will not be able to fulfill all our dreams. Looking at the pandemic, where som many young people have passed away leaving behind spouse and kids.. reality is 100 times harsher and life is hard.

Kdrama seems even more far removed from reality; I find them even less relatable. The society is materialistically obsessed and usmain they put lives story zabatdasti.

Exactly, we do.

We girls can hope for the guy to change irl, but in reality, usmain the girl may end up wasting 20 years of her life. It’s not always worth it.

Anyone who has ever read mills and boons will know where the makers of romantic dramas, from ITV to Korean get their ideas from.

EDIT :and i read the big message pehle waala. That is so real <3 .And actually absolutely right, especially post pandemic, it has actually changed the meaning of life in total

I posted this on a different thread but I'm posting it here too for you to read.

The weird truth is that when you fall in love with a person like Ahaan who is twisted with some flaws in his personality but is essentially a lovely person. You fall head over heels in love with them. Their imperfections make them so much more human that their positives attract you like anything.

Just how it is happening in the case of Ishqi, she knows Ahaan is weird at times, impulsive, doesn't own up, does weird shit but she just can't help going mad about him. For her, the little things that he does for her make her fall in love with him all over again. And she can't help it no matter how hard she tries. She ends up only being more and more attracted to him.
