If we disregard all the daily soap drama, the show does give attention to a group who has been ill treated and been misunderstood by society. This group is referred to as the 3rd gender, but I am personally not a fan of this. what is politically correct/preferred I dont know. And I notice there is still a big taboo and people not knowing exactly how broad sexuality is and can be. Transvestites, Transgenders, Transsexuals, Intersex Individuals etc.

Series Will and Grace which I think showed 2 men kissing on American tv or in a series for the first time. But I could be wrong...
Ellen was also a comedy show but that was not much about homosexuality. Though, Ellen had her coming out on TV platform.

Series Sex in the City - Homosexuality is a part of the series but not the main focus.

I have recently seen Ajeeb Daastaans on Netflix / since 16 april 2021 available.

There is 1 story of a series of 4 I believe, which is called Geeli Pucchi.
The short story is not so much on homosexuality but perhaps more about caste differences, discrimination, feminism, friendship and bi-curiosity.
The sexual tension between the two ladies is there but remained unexplored.

PS: I love Lucifer. I have yet to see the latest season (and last I believe)
