This show talks about liberal values but it seems it still inclined towards conservative thoughts.

And about Rhea's cheating I think she would have breakup with Ahaan after knowing his feelings for Ishqi but can't do it becoz of her mother's pressure.

I don't think they intend to show that it is a crime but rather a taboo which needs to be addressed. However I am not sure if they are going to handle it well.

But here they have shown her as someone who has cheated on her bf and is pretending/faking to be someone else. I don't think its just her mother's pressure though. She knows she has nowhere to go. Unmarried mothers are still a long way to go in our society.
