Taapsee has the potential to reach the top?

She's doing some amazing work and part of some great films. After Thappad, I feel she has gained the confidence of the classes and Badla proved she can get audiences in theatres as well.

Do you think she can reach the top position through her next lot of films which are poised for release? Haseen Dilruba ( the teaser is amazing), Rashmi Rocket, Run Lola Run and Shabash Mithu are all films which have her carrying the main load on her shoulders.

Can she oust Deepika/Alia and emerge as a frontrunner? Or at least reach the top 3?

Also, she's definitely ahead of Kangana as of now. So much for Kangana calling her B grade actress and Sasti copy of hers. Lol. Karma at work.

I think she is already at the top. But doing a few more memorable and impactful films like Thappad, Badla and Pink will definitely strengthen her position.

Also with Taapsee, I think she is yet to make a film which has universal appeal and is loved by everyone. For example, she still does not have a Queen or a Kahaani. Thappad mostly appealed to women and the class audience, but it left a lot of men and patriarchal audience behind.

I am waiting for one such movie which would appeal to the massess as well as the classes and make a big impact. Her lineup definitely looks promising and I hope at least one of those films makes the impact I am talking about.

I don't know. Queen definitely made a bigger cultural impact than Badla.

Queen is highly talked about even after 7 years of its release. Badla? Not sure if it evoked that kind of a response.

Badla also had Amitabh Bachchan.

That's absolutely true.

Cultural impact wise, Queen has emerged as a very popular film especially for the family audiences. Badla could not get that kind of a response even though it is a very well-made film, but it being a frame-by-frame remake kind of limited its potential to becoming a sensation.

She is already at the top. She is the star of her films and her films pretty much all do well. She is a different type of top actress though. She is not an insider, she is not a beautiful diva. So her success is more along the lines of Vidya Balan or Rajkumar Rao. They are not the typical Bollywood stars.

Taapsee Pannu is already Top 3. She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award this year. Thappad was a smash hit of 2020. Badla was a smash hit of 2019. And in 2021 she has the best lineup of upcoming films.

Alia Bhatt is shaking. Deepika Padukone is quaking. Shraddha-Katrina-Janhvi = who???? Ain't none of these beaches checking for Miss TP.

I'd say Tapsee is at the top of her game now. Most of her roles have been well received. I don't think she will reach the hype of someone like Sridevi, Madhur, or Kajol - because I believe the age of the superstar is over for now.
