It would be a pity if Essa and Navera were to come together because of that..

My guess is Rida’s surgery will be successful; Essa is making peace with his decision....whether this will culminate in marriage, I don’t know...

On the other side, Davar and Maham will obviously separate..that’s where Navera comes in...

I am still waiting to watch how Essa and Navera land up as the end game...

Something tells me it will be Rida’s sacrifice!

The beauty of this entire equation is Essa and Navera know exactly where they are in each other’s lives, currently...

I wish to see how this dynamic progresses over a period of time (read: Mohlat)...

Also, if this is a super duper intelligent team, they have filmed the OST brilliantly, I will have to admit...Essa not featuring at all, with the entire focus being on Maham-Davar-Navera!

Moreover, the title is “Mohlat”...and the lyrics say a lot...

If this drama turns out the way I envisage it, it will be one for posterity...a new genre really in “soaps”!!

If not, it will sadly be yet another one!

I have ended my four-year hiatus from IF to specifically come back and talk about this drama because I love it so much.

I used to be on IF a lot a few years ago, mostly talking about Navin Waqar and Emmad Irfani's "Kuch na Kaho". I took a break, still watched dramas in the meantime but mostly on my own, and now Mohlat inspired me so much, I had to talk to others about it.

My husband and I used to watch "Mujhe Khuda pe Yaqeen Hai" as a joke because we thought that drama was laughably bad, and we thought "Mohlat" would be similarly crappy since it was replacing MKPYH, but WOWZA this is one amazing drama! For once I think a soap is getting the TRPs it deserves.

First of all, I think *every* cast member is absolutely perfect for their role. Kinza plays Maham so well; Sami Khan, as always, plays the blindfully in love hero to a T; Sabeena Farooq brought Rida to life; Komal Aziz was made to play Navera. Usama Khan, I think, is playing a career-defining character in Essa and his entry revolutionized the drama. Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas...wow, I mean what more is there to say. This drama I started watching as a joke became the thing I look most forward to everyday.

Finally, to talk about the drama story itself...

Like most people, I was rooting for Navera and Essa (I saw on instagram someone called it EssaVera and I love that name). I still am rooting for them, but I admit, her asking Essa to marry Rida instead of her was weird and there was too much foreshadowing with Rida giving Navera the ring as an amanat, as well as Essa saying to Dawar that the man Navera will marry will be the luckiest man in the world. As much as I hate it, it all screams for a Dawar x Navera ending. (As an aside, I don't mind Essa with Rida, but come on, EssaVera is OTP).

I liked Dawar x Navera in the first fourteen episodes, prior to Essa's arrival and before Dawar and Maham happened. To me, Dawar cannot redeem himself from being the dude who was so helplessly in love with Maham that he overlooked her clear red flags, even before they got married. I just feel like Navera deserves so much better, and Essa was perfect for that, but the writers will force DaVera. Ugh.

We all know Maham will end up alone in the end, and while my heart is screaming for EssaVera, I know it's going to be DaVera.

Sabeena Farooq posted a picture on her insta story of her wearing a long red, fancy gown and captioned it "#MohlatBTS". She has other pics of her in this gown on her instagram. It looks like a bridal dress, however, all of the pics of her wearing the dress have her hair very, very simple with little to no jewelry on which makes me hope she isn't the bride (especially not Essa's bride!!) but then again, Pakistani dramas tend to have brides be very simple compared to real life. It's hard to tell.

Also, both Komal Aziz Khan and Usama Khan posted something related to EssaVera this morning--Komal posted a pic with her and Usama and asked "one word for Essa and Novera?" and Usama Khan posted a story of him twirling Komal around while she wears a red suit of some type (doesn't look near fancy enough to be a bridal suit). Idk if Usama and Komal are posting EssaVera things because they know it's the draw of the drama so they're trying to hype it up, when they know it's going to end up EssaRida. That'd be cruel baiting lol. I keep playing Devil's Advocate because I legitimately don't know who's going to end up with whom here.

So Rida's tumor can spread. I guess they are heading towards killing her. Talat kicked out Maham & Dawar. All the wealth is Talat's and she has control over it. Will Maham leave Dawar now that he doesn't have much?

Talat has cut off Dawar from the wealth. Maham will be pregnant and she will use that to fake apologize and weasel her way back into Talat's house.

Honestly, I figured they would go with the whole “the tumor can spread” part, especially when they highlighted a few episodes ago that removing the tumor isn’t enough; the biopsy determines the stage and grade of the cancer and what can happen.

Now it’s whether or not the tumor will spread before EssaRida get married. I LOVE Rida, possibly more than Navera so I hate that I’m low key wishing for Rida to die just so EssaVera get their happy ending.
