They were wary of whether people would have accepted Rudhita and this story, hence the initial episodes were much of a mentor-mentee track. But then they experimented (or I should say took a risk) with a platonic husband-wife relationship to see if audience loved it and it did wonders. People did love it.
Problems ho sakte the, par nahi huye. It was a luck for them and could have used it to their own benefit.
Par jaise tumne kaha, ITV hai. Kuch bhi ho sakta hai. They are famous for not sticking to their storylines. 👍🏼

or RTM 21(pyara tha bahut.. of flowing Ani's emotion and deepening of bond.. once only played naand left upon our interpretation.. mujhe khud iska poora matlab nahin nikal paayi through Ani's eye.. but shayad ye tha.. that Bon is inseparable.. breathe)
it was if the show had the audacity to frame a friction character as a real one for itv audience.. Ani would have been grey then.. the story would not have been this.. As Anidita marriage was a circumstantial crisis where as the historical references were on choice...
antimsandkar was for that harsh reality to be shown Indu( because platonic was also itv made.. for that era)

par Agar plotonic se hat ke.. marital relation ki acceptance ki taraf Ani sochte.. even by the pressure of society... like in the real life cases... tum kya accept kar sakti, not for the era.. but for the credibility of character?

Not bcoz its not true to the era.. but not true to the character Ani.. isiliye annulment shayad dil ka tukda hi kyun na ki.. let it be under external pressure.. I still feel it was pulled of nicely.. and was true to the character of Ani.. may not be pleasing to our hearts... may not be to what we believed will be served.. its the matter of expectation and loss.. and how we handle it or fight it
