I believe they are attractive, but way overrated

That folks who struggle, make unique films ultimately want to chummy with Bolly big-wigs than enhance indie or good cinema in Bollywood.

Kashyap is a prime example. I was a big fan. He presented raw narratives. He was the champion for poor filmmakers. But as soon as he got a huge budget, he became KJo's jigri. That, in itself isn't the issue. He had to survive.

But for a man who'd made his name as a champion, purist filmmaker, he cast Bollywood's golden eye boy at the time and acted like Karan Johar, who till this date, I can guarantee, hasn't watched most of Jean-Luc Godard's films, was his best friend.

Such a sellout. During Sadak 2, he was singing praises of Mahesh Bhatt.

I think it was a filmmakers' roundtable at a festival. It was hosted by Masand. A disgruntled screenwriter asked Motwane why Bollywood folks don't enable new screenwriters. And, Motwane's answer was that if he had a decent script, he'd have heard it by now.

It was disheartening hearing those legit great filmmakers disown new talents to maintain the status quo. In the same event, Mehra was so empathic. He was probably drunk because he was speaking erratically but he did encourage young writers and filmmakers.

I can understand people like Anupama, who's basically an insider, and Masand, who is on Karan's payroll, advocating for Bollywood hierarchy. But when filmmakers like Kashyap and Motwane do that, it's such a slap at the face of aspiring filmmakers who dare dream.

These are the same folks who mocked any movie based on mythology. But when Rajamouli obliterated records, the started chumming with him.

It's such a sad state.

Opinion 1-Things are not always what they seem and whenever there is an accusation against someone the public and the media need to stop judging and condemning the accused until the authorities have a chance to investigate and then show facts corroborated by truth and evidence. No one should be sentenced on someone's word alone. Usually there is a manipulation of some kind to tarnish an adversaries reputation or make fire wood of a fallen tree and most tales have three versions the accuser, the accused and the truth.

opinion 2- If you are a grown woman who is vocal, capable, active or still trying to "make" it in show biz and you come "forward" to claim Me-too or claim that you have been raped/molested hundreds of times by either one man or multiple men, many years after the fact, YOU are a liar seeking publicity.

SRK is the fugliest man I'd ever seen (wait is that unpopular?!)

Ash is beautiful in a non-human way: i.e. she looks like a 3D-printed and manufactured product, no warmth or emotion in her face. Her smiles creeps me out.

Don't get the big deal with Deepika's beauty - she's attractive/pretty when she's dolled up in makeup and photographed right, but that's all. Don't get why she is considered jaw-droppingly beautiful.

Tabu was horrendously bad in Drishyam. This is coming from someone who considers her the greatest Indian actress.

Irfan Khan was a good but limited actor. He had the same expressions, same delivery and same style of acting in most films.

Ranveer Singh is attractive in a non-conventional way.

Rani's voice is like a melody to me - always felt it's her best feature.

Amrita Rao deserved a better career.

The whole tirade against nepotism and how easy it is for some is…to put it bluntly useless

What is the point in crying over the fact that someone is born rich with resources? Ofcourse we acknowledge the fact that it is easier for them but wtf are We gonna do? It’s a private / family owned business / prod houses and nothing in the world stops a producer from hiring the one they want …especially in an industry like this where skill is subjective…I could think someone is shit and someone else could think they are a good actor …both opinions are valid so how is it even possible to decide who “deserves” an opportunity ? Who decides the criteria?

The only concrete evidence of an actor being liked or rejected is box office numbers, social media numbers etc but these can’t be used for new people anyway since they don’t even have a release

As the audience, we need to take responsibility for thy is so called monster that we created instead of blaming every producer for not casting a struggler

You go follow that struggler on Instagram first so he gets more exposure, endorsements…do ur bit first then talk

Also not necessary ur choice has to Align with the rest of the public so tough luck if someone u like isn’t as loved by the public

Basically , u individually don’t decide who deserves what

We collectively can decide who is and isn’t popular to skew decisions in favour of the “deserving ones”

And that’s about it …there is literally nothing else that can be done…it’s high supply and low demand business …everyone cannot be superstars

I had a crush on Saif since his Aashiq Aawara days☺️. But ,never revealed it to my friends, since he was made fun of his feminine looks and his horrendous acting😆. But,im glad he found his groove now, and etching out his own space 👍🏼.

Never understood the hype over Hrithik in KNPH. Especially his disproportionate body irritated me. He had a thin frame with artificial buffed up upper torso, obviously pumped up by steroids. Looked so unnatural.

Ash might be gorgeous in still photographs as an model, but I don't find her attractive onscreen. Madhuri and Manisha are more attractive on screen. Infact, there was a movie with Ash , Ashaye khanna and Suman Ranganathan, playing as a vamp. And I kept insisting to my family that Suman Ranganathan us much more attractive than Ash, abd they laughed at me

^^ I said the same thing ... I don't like nepotism but what can we do?? If I were a producer/director and had a son/daughter who wanted to be in the film, I would take them even if they are not talented ... same for my friends' son or daughter. Nepotism exists in every strata of society -- have you people never used your uncle's or father's connection to land a job?

See I can understand the rage when it comes to jobs where there is a set criteria …pass this exam…get 90% …answer 5/10 questions…run 20 km in 10 mins …

Most other professions like police force, corporate , medicine , engineering have a definite criteria to assess an individuals capability

How does one assess acting like that? U can’t …he may have graduated from an acting school but people can still reject him (eg uday chopra)

Acting is subjective and based on how much ppl like u …liking is an abstract term that changes from person to person …u cannot standardise art forms

If acting cannot be assessed, why do we have so many movie critics and media mouthpieces praising only one or two nepo actors to the hilt for their "acting" skills, over and over again, and trying to pass them off as the best thing to happen after sliced bread? Where is the subjectivity there and why aren't they letting people decide who the "best" actors are instead of making that decision for the audience with their constant buzz? Isn't it a bit too much of a coincidence that all the top critics have the SAME thing to say without any difference in opinion? If that's not brainwashing and agenda driven PR, I don't know what is.
