Please do not read this post if you wouldn't be happy with a character being criticised. I guess by now some of you might have understood thag when I write a post or write an analysis, I always share it with just an intention to share my understanding, share how it looks to me and not to bash characters, not to put down any characters.
In one analysis I praise a character or give credit to a character, in another post, depending on the status of the story, the same character also gets criticised. So if you could all please look at the analysis in a constructive way, keeping in mind while reading that I am sharing whatever is happening objectively, so as to understand who is doing what and could/should have done what.
Below is my understanding of the current status of the show and the plot. I haven't covered all the aspects because this is just an overall picture, not covering every single details or aspect of the plot.
Sairat, where do they stand? Why are they stuck, unable to move ahead? Why is there not much of progress in their relationship? I had once written a post as who built the wall and who is breaking it. It was a post where I had spoken about Sairat's marriage, their feelings for one another, how and why Sai buiilt a wall, who was responsible for it who was actually breaking the wall, who was actually responsible for sustaining the relationship and also growth in their relationship. I had given credit to Virat almost everytime for Sairat stood even when I knew why Sai was holding herself.
I had always spoken about his contribution, his efforts in building their relationship and maintaining it. That was a long while back, I think before Pulkit entered their life.
Well, the same things holds good even today. Sairat is where they are today mainly because of Virat. As much as he was the reason for breaking the walls and building a beautiful relationship, he is the reason for it to have got raised again, not just due to some of his behavior like Hand holding/depriving food/ousting but also due to the below. I haven't actually covered all the reasons but have listed out a few from the recent episodes alone. Below is my understanding of the girl who married a guy on certain conditions, my understanding of her position, her hopes, her expectations, her apprehension and her insecurities.
I just went through a few updates/not to be watched clippings from the latest episode (which doesn't even include the cringy hand holding scene that I think was there too).
The show is giving me a headache. All these doesn't make sense. A dumb girl with too good intentions for anyone's liking especially in this aspect, who feels her husband loves his friend, pleads her husband to call his friend.
The husband will manipulate his ex whom he calls his friend, ignoring her expectations and advances as a lover, as if she is the only one in the entire family who can play the role of Devi and help his sister and niece unite (how can we forget that he accepted to do this for just one puppy eyes given by his wife also for his sister's happiness, that sister, whom he has given a justice by making his criminal family accepting his sister's daughter).
As much as he had regretted to had spoken something unintentionally, he was so dumb to be even bringing up an information from their past about her acting skills from Pakhi's college time to convince her to participate in the skit.
He will also think that his wife and his ex don't like each other not giving once a thought that his ex has been taunting and torturing/abusing his wife (emotionally, verbally and physically (chilly grinding)) forever and that his wife only retorts. He had himself told to Pakhi that Sai doesn't start fights, she only replies and that too because you always taunt her and don't treat her well, don't behave with her like how you behave with the rest of the family. The same guy has the audacity to think that his wife doesn't like his friend?
He will then look at his wife hoping that she doesn't reply to his ex who had ruthlessly told off his wife saying that she was doing this only since her friend had asked her to, to that wife who was only trying to offer a truce (so that his sister gets her share of happiness)
The wife looks at the husband at this statement to tell something but the husband is so drowned in the paschyataap plan cum his niece sister union that he will ignore the look on his wife but will pray/hope that she doesn't retort to his ex and also gets proud looking at his wife's magnanimity.
This same guy thinks that his wife didn't get affected when he said that he missed her when she wasn't around.
Well, he can't even see the restlessness in his wife's eyes everytime when his friend openly shows her love for him.
The guy who wants his wife to understand his unsaid feelings can't understand his wife's insecurity or possessiveness which only crops up when his friend openly shows her love for him.
He can't understand that the wife wants to believe that he only shares friendship with his friend and is willing to move on with her, his wife, but always gets pulled down/made to think otherwise due to the advances or bold open love from his ex cum friend and sometimes his own stupidity of friendship jaap.
He cannot understand that his wife is just expecting that he denies his friend's advances openly or reprimands his friend from acting in any unethical way, reprimands her while his friend crosses boundaries.
He cannot understand that his wife wants to believe that they probably do have something between them as a married couple,
- hoping that whatever conditions he had once laid isn't true now,
- hoping that he is moving with her as a real wife,
- hoping that whatever proximity they are sharing are probably due to some unsaid progress in their relationship
which she wants to hear loud and clear from his own mouth, which will only be hopes/beliefs during the moments they share but will get denied or pushed away when there is no assurance/affirmation verbally since one's beliefs can be proved as assumptions or can be seen as a misunderstanding/misjudged conclusions.
(I know that above is a real complex sentence 🤭 just like their relationship)
One can actually look at the above said statement as what runs in Sai's head when she allows Virat to move with her romantically or when she questions Pakhi or puts Pakhi in her place as a wife even though Sai always calls this marriage as a deal, even though Sai always keeps telling that she is a person who anyway have to walk out of his life, even though she believes that Virat does have feelings for Pakhi but doesn't tell it out.
(I am sure this might answer questions as how is she taking the liberty as a wife even though she thinks it to be a marriage of deal.)
Most importantly, he cannot understand that his wife is expecting that he would one day put an end to all the advances from his friend, show his feiend her real place, will ask his friend to stay in her limits, will warn her to not insult his wife, will ask her to be respectful to his wife, will tell that they are not just friends but are devar bhabhi and will be devar bhabhi always.
As much as Sai was also responsible for him to be made to convince his friend to participate in the skit, screw this man who doesn't once think that he is the only one who knows his so called friend's actual intentions.
He is the only one aware that his friend not just loves him but also wants him to reciprocate her feelings and is expecting him to take their story forward.
He should know that after he has come to know of Pakhi's motives, of her feelings, he shouldn't be even talking to that lady as a friend, should treat her as only his brother's wife with respect but at the same time should be acting indifferent towards her, should be giving her cold shoulders so that he can always clearly draw some boundaries between them thereby discouraging her from expecting anything from him, stopping her from having unethical inmoral expectations from him.
The guy should have warned her for what the lady spoke in today's episode but instead ignored her advances, used her for his own benefit (even if that means his sister's happiness).
He is coming across as a selfish person who once rejected a girl's love/by not accepting her love for his own brother's happiness and now again by emotionally manipulating the same lady whom he knows wants him to be her lover even though they both are married to two different people for his sister's happiness, not once thinking about his wife whom he claims as the love of his life. It looks as if he is only worried about his brother or his sister or his family or himself at the end of the day even though he has been a kind, generous and a magnanimous person.
P.s I have not been around since last afternoon. Won't be around much today too and don't wish to use the forum actively or watch this horrendous show for now. I was upset about sai more yesterday but your post here made sense that virat should have been even more assertive that he didn’t want to go. He is the only one who knows her intentions completely.
I agree with all your points and I can only say wait for few more episodes. I think CVs have made his character too soft 😢 now they are not able to balance his indifference towards pakhi and his whatever ‘compromising’ attitude. There are inconsistencies how his character is behaving these days. I used to like the sternness in his voice when he thinks something is going wrong... even with sai. He used be in control of the situation. Now to fit him in ‘sai ke pati sai jaise hota jaa raha hai’ template they are experimenting with his character too much. Hence the inconsistencies!
So I would wait till the showdown! Because the last virat pakhi confrontation was really good. Let’s wait...
He cannot even inform his wife about what has happened between the two when she way and prays to bappa ki Sai kuch na bole.. when he knows Sai has always always been abused by Patralekha his "DOSTH" and lets go a lot many times for him..or just let it go in humour.. physically , well Lakshmi she has physically manhandled him as well , the way she holds her and once pushed her is so frustrating to watch...
